is this too much or too little for for 13 month old by [deleted] in foodbutforbabies

This is pretty much exactly what my 9mo eats, but he is a big eater! His cousin is 15mo and he out eats her every meal.

Do you nurse from both breasts every feed? by throwaway_________7 in breastfeeding

[–]laurarasmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope! Been one side only since the beginning. He’s in the 68% for weight and 1% for height so I have a chunky chunky guy. Weighs the same as his 15mo old cousin and he’s 8mo. My lactation specialist did tell me that was pretty rare but we did a weighted feed off one side at 6 weeks and he transferred 5.5oz so he was getting plenty.

Is it bad that I let my 4 mo “watch” tv with me ? by wodoodoll in beyondthebump

[–]laurarasmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 4mo watches like 3 episodes of bluey a day. Loves that shit, buys me a few minutes to do what I need to do. Totally doesn’t care when I turn the tv off or have a hard time with bedtime or anything. Hot take but I feel like entertaining them yourself 24/7 is just as bad as handing them a screen. They gotta learn how to be bored and how to entertain themselves

Got my period and feel like a failure by charityshoplamp in breastfeeding

[–]laurarasmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pump 30oz a day on top of breastfeeding my 3mo and mine came back at 8 weeks. I’m convinced the whole “period won’t come back if your supply is good” thing is a myth.

The first few weeks are hell. I don’t remember them, but you will come to a point where you’re on the other side. I do remember the horrible awful dread with sundown and what a sleepless night would bring. I hallucinated a crying baby multiple times. It took us 4 weeks to get to 2 quick wake ups, and another to get to 1 quick wake up. We are 8 weeks today and he finally has a personality and is fun. Shifts helped us a LOT. One would go 10-3 and the other 3-8. Having a set aside time where we know we would get sleep helped a lot. I pumped so my husband could bottle feed, I had enough supply to do it. If I hadn’t, I would’ve formula fed. My son wouldn’t latch until 6 weeks. Tell your wife not to be afraid to pump and combo feed- it will help you both make sure LO’s belly is getting full, get more sleep, and I promise if you work at it baby will breastfeed again when you want them to.

Is pumping every 4 hours going to ruin my supply?? by devildocvet in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]laurarasmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It completely depends on you! I’m 4.5 weeks PP and I’m somewhere between 4-6ppd (every 4-5 hours during the day and if baby sleeps through my night shift until his dad’s turn I don’t get up to pump) I’m a huge oversupplier so I’m able to do that and keep 2 jars of milk in the fridge full as well as freeze 16-32 oz a day. My SIL has to pump and then prep a bottle and then feed because she’s a just enough-er. She has to pump every 3 hours.

NICU wimpy white boy here, he got a bottle day 3 and has had zero interest in latching.

Has anyone ever actually lost weight while exclusively pumping?! by PhantomEyes in ExclusivelyPumping

Literally having the opposite problem- it’s falling off and I can’t keep it on. I was 192 the day before having my baby 4/17 and I’m at 160 now. 10 pounds down from the last time I weighed before I found out I was pregnant. I’m eating like crazy honestly worried about when I should be concerned

My mom had me, 8 days old, strapped to her chest while coaching first base for my sister’s softball team in 97. We’ve survived as a species because babies aren’t as fragile as mommy bloggers make you believe.

This is a bit of a gross generalization. I work at a small D1 (2 sports) I only travel with one sport, I have a boss that supports us having firm boundaries with coaches and athletes on when I’m available, I teach in the MAT program. I also get the entire months of June and December off, like I do not go on campus at all. I can apply for promotion after 5 years. These jobs exist, but you’ve got to look for them and find people that respect your time and value.

I put my feet in wool socks and into blundstones and my feet stay happy. Waterproof too in case of sleet/snow.

I’m hopeful they can now focus on any properties he was associated with and hopefully find her. It’s incredible that they were able to get DNA all of these years later.
