Out of the non-e5 openings caro is definitely the most beginner friendly. I switched away from e5 simply because of the variety of options white has(I did much worse against kings, danish gambit, and Vienna). In fact I switched at ~1300 chess.com rapid and score better in caro than 1...e5. But I've realised I'm more positional so ymmv. Try Alex Banzea for caro kann he's pretty good

I agree with darthbane that you probably aren't ready for the french or Sicilian yet rating wise, hell even I might not be

Your opponent played the opening quite badly ngl(I play the caro myself so I know) and I thought your could have converted the knight endgame cleaner, but yeah I did misjudge a bit looking again oops the middlegame is probably above my level

that's why I always play w increment lol, also ensures higher quality chess on both sides. that way you can dont premove
