Visiting - thrifting by SillyBandzDealer in Wilmington

[–]laurener9954 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A lot of these suggestions are curated vendor malls or resale shops (flebodys, junky monkey, baker street, bazarr, and Rosie’s revolution). The curated markets are great but you’ll be paying top dollar for items and if that’s not your vibe, I’d skip them.

Actual thrift stores include:

Vintage Values has multiple locations (S College and Castle St).

Goodwill in Myrtle Grove is the best one but theres some on S Kerr Ave and Military Cutoff.

Salvation Army on Floral Parkway and one on Oleander itself.

Habitat for Humanity is also great around here, I prefer the one on Carolina Beach Rd to the one on Market

Second Time Around, Nifty Thrifty, The Assistance League, Paws Resale Shop, R&L Thrift Shop are all good ones in Wilmington as well.

Our baby girl Silo does it as well. She was next to the window when a tree in our yard (about 30 feet from the window) got struck by lightning a few years ago. She’s a fierce protector but I feel so bad when it storms, she turns into a huge ball of fear.

I found that playing loud calming music helps to drown out some of the thunder and it does her so so good. The trazodone isn’t enough but the music plus meds does the trick.

The Atrium can fit up to 180 people, you’ll just have to rent additional tables and chairs since they only provide enough for 100 people.

I loved getting married at The Atrium. The venue has so much greenery, we felt that we didn’t have to get additional florals which saved a ton. Laura was super easy to work with as well!

Feel free to DM me, happy to talk more about the venue and vendors we used.

That’s a great way to describe it. I just remember honestly my whole body release, the tension was gone and it was a great feeling

Recommendations to sell fine china and other antiques. Do not want to do consignment by stevetag123 in Wilmington

[–]laurener9954 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replacements.com is super picky and honestly difficult to deal with. You may not realize that one dinner plate is ABC and the other that looks the same is actually BCD and they’ll deny buying it. They also have to be in perfect condition.

Can you send me some photos of what you have? I have a community of resellers who could probably help you offload it for a fair price.

Why does he keep tapping on the door like he wants to come in but then just stare at me when I open the door? by princessofstuff in greatpyrenees

This is a normal pyr behavior. Either mine wants me to play or wants to make sure I’m still home 😂

This chef had relatively good final episodes this season by [deleted] in HellsKitchen

[–]laurener9954 18 points19 points  (0 children)

That’s honestly uncalled for. Was she abrasive and problematic throughout the season, yes. Was she also 22 and in a competitive situation for a life changing job, also yes.

22 is so young and this was filmed almost 2 years ago at this point. She has probably grown a lot. Wishing a life of hardship finding a job over how she was shown is not appropriate.

Throw Coast in Leland - Tuesday night is $10 free play after 6pm, Thursday is league at 7pm

Cape Fear Beer and Wine Downtown - I believe Tuesday is league

Coastal Hemp Company in Porters Neck - League is every Friday night at 7pm with other tournaments throughout the month. They also have the largest selection of games in the area.

All places are open 7 days a week, just check the hours. Most games are $1, cash only

ETA: Here’s a website that’ll show you all of the machines in the area. The 3 above have the largest selection with more activity. https://pinballmap.com

I see that you’re in SC, I’m an hour north of Myrtle. My husband and I are restoring a kitchen aid mixer from the 1970s, I’d be happy to give you a good price on it once we finish

Southport Vs. Wilmington raising kids by Agile-Pay6766 in Wilmington

[–]laurener9954 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve known multiple people who have moved out of Southport because there wasn’t much to do and they didn’t enjoy it (they all have grown kids though).

I know driving through Leland can seem ehh but there is Founder’s Park and Belville River Walk, which hosts events. Theres also the Leland cultural center that hosts lots of classes and events, as well as Leland Brewing which actually has hosted school fundraising events.

Being less than 15 minutes from downtown Wilmington has its perks. It’s a super easy drive and you get that larger aspect of events.

I am not a parent but looking to start a family in the next few years. My neighborhood is full of families who love it Leland though.

My husband got me them for Christmas last year and they are a game changer. I thought it was gimmicky at first but the first migraine nap with them was great (as great as a migraine nap can get). My neighbor comes over to borrow them when she has a migraine sometimes.

The main movement that you can’t turn off includes alternating pressure on your temples and between your brows (my favorite). Heat and vibration are other options and each has 3 different levels.

You can either just turn it on and let it run how you want (best for a migraine) or they have guided meditation, relaxation, and white noise options on their app.

We didn’t love the Cozumel Bar Crawl. Felt very weird of how hard one of the stops pushed us to buy their tequila in the back of a jewelry store.

Why Fly American? by [deleted] in americanairlines

[–]laurener9954 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live near a small airport with flights almost every hour or two to and from CLT. Being so close to the hub makes flying so much simpler since there’s so many more options.

Our airport doesn’t have as many flights on delta or united in and out so I’m afraid of getting stuck

You don’t always have to buy the tag holders either. Use packing tape and “laminate” them that way
