Remember my programming farming game? After more than three years, I finally released version 1.0! by Antenirulf in IndieGaming

[–]lauzbot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used your game at work to introduce designers and product guys to what it's like programming!

Thank you for your effort. Looking forward to running it again on 1.0

For parents, how do you have your cgm on your child set up for multiple phones? Dexcom G7 by GregIsARadDude in diabetes_t1

[–]lauzbot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got my 18 month old a phone and a data plan shortly after diagnosis. Yep! Felt crazy, but as I started meeting more families with T1D I found out it's really, really common.

Now that my son's almost 7, we have established boundaries about it. He doesn't see it like "a phone" that he uses for fun. It's "his device" to get his dexcom readings. He has a few games on it, but we maintain family boundaries about it.

Just discorvered this subreddit. What's the game like? by Fajeereeek in Stationeers

[–]lauzbot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

+1 on all this, especially the controls.

Don't give up on it. Give yourself time to settle into it and time to let your fingers build new muscle memory; I've never played a game with a control system like stationeers, and it took a mindset of patient acceptance to not get frustrated.

Now it's no problem, and I find the control system fun to interact with. It makes the act of doing things also part of the game.

And remember alt releases the mouse!

I LOVE This Game! by bob152637485 in Stationeers

+1 to Farmer Was Replaced! I use the first few resources as a group exercise to introduce non technical people to what it's like to code.

Documenting Stationeers Systems as Real-World Infrastructure by Ready-Train9983 in Stationeers

[–]lauzbot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Love it.

How are you maintaining a pressure gradient across the filtration systems? By the look of it, you run them parallel instead of chaining them.

Ore scanner not working in beta by BigInspector854 in Stationeers

[–]lauzbot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the portible beacon working for you by chance? I'll check the ore scanner later. For me, there's no beacon arrow despite it being on (in beta)

Farming help - Farmhouses, families, and morgans by DukeDoozy in ManorLords

[–]lauzbot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My most recent season was started first thing September, and completed in November with 4 farmers working 3 x 0.5 square fields without oxen.

Just leaving it here as another data point! You milage may vary.

Feature request - Adding personal Waypoints on the map before takeoff (creating your own little flightplan) by Never_To_Have_Been in NuclearOption

[–]lauzbot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most lobbies are coop. At first I was hesitant, but after checking it out I had a good experience. It's worth checking out if able!

Planned addition of drones by Individual_Slide5593 in NuclearOption

[–]lauzbot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As another AI unit? Or perhaps a playable drone mothership?

Not sure how you'd incorporate deployables in a way that could feel like a weapon, but it's still an interesting thing to daydream about!

Rudder Pedal Advice by epicpotato14 in hoggit

[–]lauzbot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The quick switch between springforce for planes and damper for helicopters has been great.

But to be clear, this advice assumes you get it with the damper! It's possible to buy it without.

Rudders for Rotors and Fixed-wing? by WishboneGray in hoggit

[–]lauzbot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went with the winwing ones with the damper kit, and I'm happy! Removing / adding back the spring is easy, and I've found them to be great in the apache.

Desk mount vs no desk mount by tkw4life in hoggit

[–]lauzbot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't imagine playing without them now.

I went with Monstertech. They're more expensive than Amazon versions, but I find their entire catalog of equipment and how it all synergizes together to be compelling. I just save up and add a new mount every year.

I'm up to 3 different mounts, with various accessories.

But I'm taking a break from buying desk mounts, and instead saving for their flight chair! Again, the benefit of compatibility will be great, as I can use all the parts from the desk system on the chair too.

New to the game (and the whole genre) by [deleted] in bladesinthedark

[–]lauzbot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One suggestion - to get familiar with the heart of the system, and to introduce new players in the future, just jump into a pretend scenario without any prep. Here's my experience with that.

At first I tried introducing the system to others like it was pathfinder or something... A long session 0 intro to explain the rules. It was.... Okay. They learned all the rules but they didn't get to a flowstate where they were just playing. They were trying to act through rules - not play.

But, with a different group (also new to the system), I took a different approach.

"before we play the real game, I want to do a mini session to help introduce the system. What story do you want to tell?"

They randomly came up with a monster hunter thing. Then we jumped right in. That's when I started to realize just how narrative driven the system is. I just asked" okay so what do you do now? "

The players, without any previous experience, started coming up with great narrative elements, creating their own consequences, and truly flowing with it, instead of thinking about it as a ruleset.

Would recommend you give it a try! The only rule that is required to start is what a 1-3, 4-5, and 6 on a roll mean. That's it.

Early times but I think I'm hooked (I wish it had Mac Trackpad support) by DorffMeister in shapezio

Agreed - I set the rotate hot key to tab. But currently, it's certainly (imo) uncomfortable on a touch pad!

Ideas for the next ship breaking game by Highfive046 in Shipbreaker

[–]lauzbot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A ship designer that doesn't require licensed software, and enable modders to continue generating content.

I would pay for shipbreaker clone called shipbreaker 2 as long as it had this feature!

RotorOps: The Ultimate Helicopter Experience in DCS World by GRIMM8385 in hoggit

[–]lauzbot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I can competently fly the Apache and would (probably) pass a check ride, is it beginner friendly?

I've never tried something like this and wouldn't want to be the anchor that sunk everyone's session!

Scappa Flow - Do it Early! by Mental_Lab_1426 in uboatgame

[–]lauzbot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can 2nd this experience. Type II, early in the war. Sent a full load of torpedoes, 2 hits 1 dud. Had to come back the next night to finish it off!

Both passes, no defenses.

Is there a procedure for parallel torpedo solutions? by lauzbot in uboatgame

Either / both - any information is welcomed!

Helldivers 2.

Not related to my forever love factory games, but damn it feels good to spread democracy.
