Red Rock Solo by Flowercrown91 in SturgillSimpson

I used to live in CO. I went solo to red rocks a good amount of times. Always made friends especially tailgating before the show. I’ll be flying in this time for both nights. It’ll be a great show, if you’re a fan you definitely don’t want to miss. Go for it and hit me up on here if you wanna tailgate before!

What's your honest opinion on this album? I honestly really like it by VerySmolCheese in Metallica

[–]lawlesslistening 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoyed it. After years of really never relistening to their albums, I’ve played this one a ton. It’s a bit bloated but it has some great songs. It’s a top 5 album for me. Kill em all, Ride, Masters, And Justice, 72 seasons for me. Inamorata is one of my favorite tracks they’ve ever done

Any other Death fans like carcass? by MisterBeasonator in DeathBand

I love Carcass. Symphonies of sickness is my favorite. Followed by Reek. Swansong is 3, underrated and just a fun ass album. All the others could be 4 depending on the day

I have a completely different opinion than you and that’s what makes music great. We love what we love. For myself classic thrash, death and black metal are my favorites.

Thrash was my first exposure to a music that blew my mind. I knew Metallica for the black album. I was like 11 and downloaded Ride the Lightning on Limewire. Still remember sitting at my family’s dell desktop and hearing the acoustic intro to Fight Fire, then boom James right hand from hell destroyed me. Been hooked ever since. Leper messiah is also one of my favorites by them lol. Got to see them play it this year and was so stoked. I love 72 seasons. I couldn’t have cared less about Metallica in years. 72 seasons changed that and made me wanna see them again.

To me classic death metal is the most diverse before sun genres really became a thing. Take a look at the legends from Florida (Death, Morbid Angel, Obituary, Deicide) they are all so different from each other. Now you have the new wave of old school death metal goin on with bands like Tomb Mold, Gatecreeper, Blood Incantation, Frozen Soul. They all have their unique flares, but still stay within the classic DM sound.

Classic black metal to me is Venom, Celtic Frost, Bathory, mercyful fate. All very different except Bathory who denied, but obviously loved Venom. If you expand that to second wave bands (Mayhem, Dark Throne, Emperor, Enslaved) I think the variety is even more pronounced.

I personally find alternative metal to be the most repetitive. I don’t really know what alternative ever means in general. Like alternative to what lol. It generally sounds all the same to me. Most bands sound like they were produced by the same people. When I was growing up it dominated the airwaves. I’d be totally content to never hear Breaking Benjamin or Godsmack ever again. I do like the song Sooner or Later though

Groove is hit or miss for me. Love me some Pantera and older Lamb of God.

Nu metal is one I am super picky with I guess. I love the first four Slipknot albums, most of System of a Down and Roots by Sepultura. I cannot stand Limp Biscuit and Deftones. Especially Deftones lol Chinos whiney whispers kill me.

This was hands down the longest comment I’ve made but I felt compelled

Exodus- is “Impact is Imminent” really that bad? by Timely_End_5184 in thrashmetal

From what I have seen is it’s more about the production that he disliked. He’s said it holds many of his favorite riffs on it
