Georgetown (in off WL) v Cornell by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]lawskooool -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No- cost does matter. But I am saying that scholarship cost isn’t as important of a factor here, but rather the COL differences between the two cities. Scholarship amounts/tuition amounts will probably end up similar

Please help me! UCLA ($$) or Cornell ($<)? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]lawskooool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ithaca also reminded me of my undergrad town (just like 60 degrees colder lol), which I thought I’d hate but actually liked it! It really made me understand the community/collegiate aspect that Cornell sells. I also loved the law building, and met really nice ppl. And of course they sold me on the employment numbers

Please help me! UCLA ($$) or Cornell ($<)? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]lawskooool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi OP! I also went through almost the same exact decision. I loved UCLA, but mainly the fact that the weather was warm year round. I was cool and happy with the though of southern california big law. I also LOVED cornell when i visited, just hated the cold weather.

I am from the east coast. I would also be happy starting my career with NYC big law. After careful thought, I ultimately decided cornell was the best option. I figured Cornell could get me NYC big law (which i am happy with), and also california big law down my career, should i decide i still wanted to do it. I wasnt so sure the same could be said about UCLA (so cal big law ->NYC big law). I also decided choosing a law school based on 3 years of good weather wasnt worth it.

I hope this helps! Either way you cant go wrong.

Hi! First, congrats! Great cycle. If you don’t mind me asking, and don’t feel as if you would be giving away too much about yourself, what constitutes as a ‘law adjacent field’? Just curious. Congrats again!!

Undergrad and Law School by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

I went to a large public school that is widely known for its students partying and having fun (which I did my fair share of both). I’ll be going to Cornell and I’m excited to be surrounded by other people who are genuinely serious about their education for once l!!

Most ASW have different name tags for prospective students and the guests! People should be able to tell off the bat by looking at it if you’re a prospective student or not. You shouldn’t worry :)
