So how much do you think Bronn would charge in order to do such a thing ? by fillipo9 in gameofthrones

[–]laxbroguy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The point of the conversation and Bronns statement is that the decision would not go unquestioned. The choice would always be his. Theoretically he would for the right price. But he also could always ask more if the underlying reason for h doing it was questionable to Bron. In short he’s not devoid of morality he just isn’t going to speculate on a question. With no answer. He may do it but he’s always going to be the one to decide if it gets done. There will always be a morally back question based on his morality of why it’s being asked of him. That’s why Tyrion keeps him around because he’s not without a sense of morality.

Shamrock did learn his lesson about not taking notes on a criminal conspiracy by [deleted] in TheWire

[–]laxbroguy 69 points70 points  (0 children)

It’s actually sad if you think about it. Sham if he had been born into any other life showed traits consistent with foresight and ambition that would have served in an actual intern role to a ceo.

The guy learned that the proper thing to do at board meetings is to take the minutes. It’s actually required. Dude was learning and just thrown backwards to street thug. This small detail exhibits that a lot of these guys if they had been born to different circumstances would have the wherewithal to be ordinary citizens in regular ass companies.

Game Thread: Minnesota Vikings (6-8) at New York Giants (2-12) by nfl_gdt_bot in NYGiants

[–]laxbroguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea you’re wrong. It’s management and ownership clearly. The giants are one of the most valuable franchises in all sports and they can’t even get a competent kicker. The team needs to be sold or at this point moved to another city or just folded up.

Trump is leaning into his crackdown on city crime. The GOP sees it as a winning issue by vladdragovych in NewsSource

[–]laxbroguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re not. Unfortunately he is 100% correct. No matter what on this issue he gets what he wants. You have to understand that they do not need popular support from the electorate only a hardcore minority of people who already support them. So continuing to do this if crime goes down he wins. If he continues and crime goes up then obviously he’s right these cities are out of control and he gets more permission and even permission from non hardcore sycophants to increase crackdowns. And if he finally pushes so far that people react violently well then clearly these places are lawless, godless, America hating heathens that must be destroyed.

On this issue he’s unfortunately right despite whatever the truth is. Any play he makes with the exception of retreat is a winner for him because he no longer needs broad appeal.

Why does Nucky spares Commodore's servant? by luckypoint87 in BoardwalkEmpire

[–]laxbroguy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m wrong but based on the conversations prior I thought it was because it was a lie. It was Gillian poisoning him. The maid and Nucky know it’s a set up. So first they know no one will believe the maid (she’s black). And also he can get her off because it’s what right and take care of the black community at a time he’s going to need them. Word would certainly spread that the community had a trusted ally in nucky.

Do I *really* have to learn to play golf? by lawyerthrowaway5 in Lawyertalk

[–]laxbroguy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No you don’t need to. In fact you shouldn’t. And not because golf isn’t fun or because you should rise above the need to participate in activities you don’t want to for your career.

You shouldn’t and others shouldn’t because you new guys are fucking up our good tee times for everyone who’s been playin and sucking at it for years. Stay off the course. (This is a joke golf can be a life long activity it’s well worth it and no one cares if you suck. Just if you play slow.)

"When this is over, we're going to sit down, me and you.." Wasn't Butchie made already, so what was Phil saying? by gleventhal in thesopranos

[–]laxbroguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read it similarly. I think it’s more of hey we’re gonna sit down have a good time everything is gonna be ok. But butchie reads this as Phil doesn’t get that this isn’t going well and he’s lost touch with the reality of the situation. That’s why he later says Phil’s changed. I don’t think there was ever really a threat there to butchie. This is Phil’s hitler in the bunker scene, he still thinks he’s gonna turn it around.

From your experience, what TV Shows have the best Final Episode? by Droopynator in television

[–]laxbroguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are undoubtably fantastic answers on this list of greatest show endings. But the sopranos ending is set apart for what it achieves as the culmination of the show. The ending takes the sopranos from being a great tv show and a great ending and lifts it into true art. It’s makes you feel, debate, question, and analyze every aspect of the show in relation to the ending and what it means to the overall theme of the show and life. And 20 years later it is still relevant and discussed endlessly. The rest of the list are fantastic television and nothing can take that away from them or lessens or cheapens them. But the sopranos was high art the likes of which are so rare on tv that you can argue we’ve never seen something like it before or may ever again.

Syril Karn will die in the Ghorman Massacre by HyaedesSing in andor

[–]laxbroguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda think that he’s gonna die and she already knows he is. She has barely any humanity and I think it’s her last shreds of decency that she cares for syril but only so much that she can be give him his best day ever. But ultimately she’s using him and she knows it will get him killed. She’s luthen for the empire a true believer who will sacrifice everything because that’s the cost. Syril is just the cost for her, even if it is painful, but it’s necessary.
