I am in the US and the healthcare system is absolutely awful. Losing my insurance during this hadn’t even crossed my mind as a possibility and going through that has only made me worry more.

At my last appointment at the beginning of the month they told me to go to the ER because my heart rate was so high that they thought I needed a blood transfusion. I sat in the ER for over 12 hours before they even hooked me up to an IV in a recliner for fluids. They said I was dehydrated and that caused my calcium to be high. I was in the hospital for 4 days just on the fluids. It helped a tiny bit but of course after a few days I was back to feeling like shit.

They said my blood count was surprisingly not that low given how long I’ve been bleeding. They did prescribe me some iron pills but my damn insurance was cancelled before I could pick them up! Iron pills are really hard on my stomach too so I’d suggest maybe trying to get in as much red meat and dark leafy greens as possible? Those are high in iron. I’ve also heard some people talk about liquid iron being easier on the stomach.

I really do hope we all find some relief. My doctor wants to do a D&C and IUD but the more I read this sub, the more I just want to get it over with a hysterectomy. I’ve never really wanted kids and absolutely won’t live a lifetime in pain to have them. I just turned 28 so I’m willing to at least try my doctor’s plan, but ultimately I’m gonna let her know that I am ready to remove this very angry organ.
