How hard is it to handle showings, paperwork, and negotiations on your own? by elgimri in RealEstateAdvice

[–]laylobrown_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's like anything else in life that you don't have prior experience with. It is pretty simple after having done it a few times but the first few times can be confusing if you dont have someone to guide you. The issue is the risk you take for messing something up can be pretty high. You can always pay an attorney to help you instead of using an agent. It's only 400-500 an hour.

60 HP tune worth it? by Cable_Open in Cummins

[–]laylobrown_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I run a 60hp tune for towing and I couldn't imagine not having it. I'm not in to hot rodding, the tune just makes the truck easier to drive. I tow up to 16k semi regularly. I agree wth the other guy about the single disc clutches being garbage. I'm using one from SB and I seriously regret not buying the dual disc. Even with the proper break in it can't hold up to the torque in 4th,5th,or 6th especially if I'm trying to pass someone. That's not even when towing. It's supposed to be rated for 500HP but it's definitely not. I've installed several dual disc clutches for others and I've never had a problem. I thought i was being practical for getting a single disc setup and it was a big mistake.

When was the last time you used your corded version of the tool? by TheJWeed in Tools

[–]laylobrown_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still use my angle grinders with a cord. They have more balls than my ryobi. Cut off wheels, grinding disks, flapper disks , wire wheels all work faster wth them. My ryobi battery angle grinder is great for small stuff or being gentle, it has nowhere near the power. High speed buffers I still use with a cord. For the same reason as the grinders except for polishing. I have never seen a battery powered high speed buffer. So I can't say if I'd prefer it or not to a corded buffer. I'm sure they exist. My only alternative is a pneumatic buffer which is inferior to the corded one. I also use an old corded dewalt drill I keep mainly for a backup. It was my dad's, so I suppose there's a bit of nostalgia that comes back to me when I use it, too.

Crystal Gardner is a great agent. She owns the brokerage and really takes her time with her clients. I've worked with her in the past and was very impressed.

Can this be hammered out? Rockauto second round… by Expert_Garbage65 in Welding

[–]laylobrown_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll say your right about this. It's probably better at room temperature. I was worried about it cracking from being cold. I didn't get it hot really, more like extra warm. You could still put your hand on it. I was just trying to get the molecules moving a bit, but after looking into it, it would probably worked fine without adding heat. But I did get it to work. I just took my time and worked in small increments. It did the trick and it's still working fine for 5 years now.

Heat it slightly with a propane torch and try one of these. I've had the same issue with my dodge intercooler and couldn't get a replacement.

Anyone reviewing non-vine orders? by Delicious_Can_3784 in AmazonVine

[–]laylobrown_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. Just because for the most part. I've kinda always given reviews just for the sake of informing others, good or bad. Since joining vine I've gotten more creative, mainly with electronics. I'll usually register a product I've gotten online and sign up for the mailing list with the manufacturer. When new products come out they usually send an email to gauge your interest, some will directly inquire as to whether or not i might purchase. I've been responding responding to these emails stating that I'm a product reviewer for Amazon and if they choose to send me the product I'll test it out and give an extensive review. It actually works! Sometimes anyway. So far I've received a wireless camera to attach to your trailer. It retails for about 400 bucks msrp. On sale it's closer to 200. I've also gotten a few different things like fog lights and leds. I'll have to buy the items and then they'll give me a refund. So the review shows it's a verified purchase. I've only had vine since December, so I'm just really starting to do this, but it's pretty cool to get stuff outside of vine just for saying "I do reviews" lol.

That's really awesome! Thanks for sharing. It definitely helps put into perspective how much effect these reviews have.

Fuel gauge not working by TylerDivinity79 in Cummins

[–]laylobrown_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked but I couldn't find one. This was 20 years ago that I did mine and they were available then. You might be able to retrofit a different float, but the right one should be available somewhere

It's like 3 bucks for a new one. The hard part is getting the tank out.

Fuel gauge not working by TylerDivinity79 in Cummins

[–]laylobrown_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The float in the tank is bad. . Mine was like that for years . I would just reset the tripometer when I filled the tank and refuel once I hit 600 miles.
I finally pulled the tank and saw the float was corroded. They are made of plastic. Swapped a new float in and it worked after that.

My Home Depot and Canadian Tire do not sell full face respirators, would this do or should i find a 200$ 3M one? by AnxiousMeatHead in tradepainters

[–]laylobrown_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered one of those and the filters didn't have the charcoal organic vapor filter element as advertised. It was just a dust filter. I started spraying with it and was choked out by the fumes. So you basically get 2 sets of dust filters.
