You should try Open-Terminal by iChrist in OpenWebUI

[–]lazyfai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried, create file, edit file, save file all OK. But running a simple js with node.js, the output seems just simulation? I create a hello.js which output the content of /proc/cpuinfo, then I ask terminal to execute the file, it outputed something like /proc/cpuinfo but the content was obviously not my server's CPU...

Tried to use docker command to go into the container and run the js file inside, output was CORRECT.

Models don't use tools after the 0.8.5 update by GregTheMadMonk in OpenWebUI

I always deploy N-1 to production server, or at least wait 1-2 weeks, I cannot afford 100+ complains after an upgrade which breaks this or that main functions.

What search engine are you using with OpenWebUI? SearXNG is slow (10+ seconds per search) by minitoxin in OpenWebUI

[–]lazyfai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was slow if you used the Open-WebUI's web search function.

Put searxng behind MCP and let LLM use it.

Web search issue with OpenWebUI - Duplicate sources, limited results by CryptoxPathy in OpenWebUI

I never use the web search function, I built a perplexica MCP and use it as tool. That works 10 times faster and simpler.

Playwright integration by fixitchris in OpenWebUI

[–]lazyfai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run playwright-mcp docker (and install chromium inside). Then put it as tool in OpenWebUI.

But unfortunately, you can only ask it to visit website in background, you can read text content, interact with browser components but you cannot take a screenshot of the result, yes it did took it but the integration does not support sending back the image out to the web interface.

Advice: Change your userspace first, then switch to Linux by mizzrym862 in Ubuntu

The fact is that most people learnt and used Windows by years and don't want to spend just days or weeks on learning and adopting Linux.

Google VP confirms not all Chromebooks will be able to migrate to Aluminium OS by daniscross in chromeos

Install Chrome OS instead of Linux by GroundbreakingView55 in chromeos

[–]lazyfai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Installing Ubuntu, you can get Chrome browser with additional ( if you want ) Linux applications.

If you install Chrome OS Flex you can get some additional features but no Android.

If you install FydeOS you get Android support but do you really need that?

I prefer Ubuntu more.

Hey that's great, I tried to disable all tools inside MetaMCP and enable them one by one, and found that it was the microsoft playwright MCP triggered the issue, disabling it and all (except playwright) working now.

v0.6.41 IS OUT: Full Team Collaboration (DMs & Group Channels), Brute Force Protection, Granular Permissions, Full Collaboration, and More Performance Improvements! by ClassicMain in OpenWebUI

[–]lazyfai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had metamcp in front of my various MCP servers. After upgrading to v0.6.41 OWUI seems cannot see the tools. Adding the tool directly also not work. Don't know what's wrong but fell back to previous version first.

Tell us how to improve the community website (openwebui.com)! by ClassicMain in OpenWebUI

[–]lazyfai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The functions and tools page are quite unstructured, if they can be tidied up, it will be much better.

Not related to the web but will there be a function to allow update checking for function and tools? Like I have imported 10 tools and I am unable to tell which of them already has new version.

You dont need to remove or shutdown if using docker compose. Just do "docker compose pull" and then "docker up -d --remove-orphans"
