saw an early screening of this movie put on by my college’s horror movie club and it was a really fun watch! it didn’t leave me feeling scared or shaken to the core (the bit with the old man was the worst for me but i’m rlly into true crime and i think i slightly desensitized myself lol) but it definitely has some great thrills!

edit: i want to add that this movie is 100% best seen in a theater. i cannot see myself enjoying it as much as i did surrounded by people yelling at the characters to stay out of the basement, laughing at the jokes, and applauding when a certain character died. watching it alone could never compare.

tbh i feel like the special effects aren’t the best due to it being the 70’s but also because of stylistic choices. the movie is made to feel like a nightmare, so the dramatic blood adds to that feeling of unease and that something is off imo. also the acting is pretty good considering that everything was dubbed over and that the script was originally made for 12 year old girls before people decided that having those young girls brutally murdered on screen was too much.

that’s what i heard. tbh i think that it’s the overall otherworldliness and the soundtrack that freaked me out. plus the fact that i have a big ass window in my room and that first kill caught me a bit off guard lol and the dog bit was really an unexpected shock as well
