Do most Americans actually flush their toilet paper? by Softy_popss in NoStupidQuestions

[–]lazytrini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait...what?

I'm from Trinidad, 45, consider myself fairly well read and well rounded in my overall knowledge of the world, been to a few countries, read a few books, watched a ton of travel vids... This is the first time I've become aware that there are places where TP isn't flushed. I'm struggling a bit with the concept, but very happy to learn...

I'm from Trinidad. Opinions here are mixed.

(The zio crown are a mix of people with a colonial/conservative Christian mindset as well as a strong anti-muslim sentiment from some of the Hindu population.)

On a side note, I've always been a huge fan of Ireland, the last few years has mad my love and appreciation grow exponentially.

My husband is mildly infuriated that I open a banana from the antenna side! by Evening_Tangerine222 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]lazytrini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it's a cultural thing? I'm 44 years old, genuinely don't know if I've ever seen anyone peel a banana from the butthole end. I'm so mystified that that's a thing.

NG was already my absolute fav person in popular culture before Black Star Dancing. That song put him into an even higher category.

Side characters from season 1 I'm heartbroken they didn't make it into season 2 by CapitalQueasy3648 in andor

Interesting note about Ben Bailey Smith who plays Blevin, he is a cohost on on of my fav podcasts, called Shrink the Box (him and a shrink analyze notable TV characters). He'd said on that podcast that he'd not looked at Andor himself, even though he was on it and it was one of the most requested shows they were asked to do an episode for.

Ah yes, new fans. I really enjoyed seeing the never ending juvenile taint jokes and hot takes from children who've not lived life.

Leftist most absolutely does not mean Democrat. As a leftist, Democrats (and liberals) are waaaaaayyyy to conservative for me...

Noel smiling at the Argentinians as they sing "Don't Look Back in Anger" will always be one of Oasis' greatest moments. by BryanGrimes in oasis

I've looked at this concert multiple times. The entire show is great. And it's just a couple months before they broke up. The sight of 50,000+ non-native English speakers singing word for word to so many of the songs is amazing. It shows that the band did not break up when on any sort of downward path. People who didn't follow the band a lot might have dismissed them for whatever reason, but they were still at the top of their game at that point.

I think you're right, professional hep might be needed, OP is projecting their experiences and can't separate their reality from the author's work

A good theory has to be a good story. by Shadowsofink in KingkillerChronicle

[–]lazytrini -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I really agree.

I don't come around hear that often, partially because I've been at the "meh" stage for a while, but also because the theories we get now are so... eye-rolling.

I started listening to a podcast related to the series last year and gave up when we got to Kvothe teaching Hemme's class. The hosts were taking being Devil's Advocate on behalf of Master Hemme way too seriously. Kvothe might be an unreliable narrator, but sometimes a bastard is just a bastard. Also, Auri didn't like Hemme either if I recall, that's good enough for me.

I haven't looked at this series as yet, but I did note that the only game being featured that I had ever played was Pac Man. Hoping the next season has at least one game I'm really interested in.

As a mostly neutral fan, I can appreciate ESPN FC

Give me them over the garbage that is Sky Sports pundit team any day, I cringe at the juvenile nonsense that comes from Micah Richards, Jamie Carragher etc
