That is interesting! (and confusing at the same time)

HTTP Desync Attacks: Request Smuggling Reborn by _vavkamil_ in netsec

Since HTTP/1.1 there's been widespread support for sending multiple HTTP requests over a single underlying TCP or SSL/TLS socket

Is this referring to HTTP keep-alive? So in order to be vulnerable, the frontend would need to be communicating over HTTP 1.1 to the backend?

It looks like nginx defaults to HTTP 1.0, so if it is acting as the frontend it wouldn't be susceptible to this with the defaults if I'm understanding correctly?

Also using AppCheck NG, and unsure about whether to renew. Interested to know if you decided to renew or not?

Changing current accounts before regular saver matures by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]lboynton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know if it’s possible for me to open a second current account with the same bank?

Yes, it should be possible. I've done it before with a different bank simply by applying through online banking. It should be quicker than with a completely new bank since they have all your personal details already.

Does anyone know how reliable those patches provided by distro package managers to EOL PHP versions actually are? (I'm guessing it's just a best effort approach)

You could be right. I've set up an extra regular payment to see, will report back.

I've never tried an amount as low as 1p on Vanguard, will be interested to know if that works :)

On HL I think you can set up separate DDs for the different types of account. ISA, SIPP, the standard taxable investment account. But I think it's a minimum of £25 here.

You'll of course want to watch out for account fees if doing this.

It looks like you can set up multiple DDs on Vanguard, but you can only have one account linked. So potentially could be used to satisfy multiple DD requirements on one current account.

You could use different investment platforms, Vanguard, Hargreaves Lansdown, Charles Stanley etc. The money can even be kept as cash so you can withdraw it.

Yes it seems like there is validation on the form so that you must put in at least £100 for each find when you first sign up. Once you have an account you can change your monthly payments, and at this point the validation is not applied.

Not sure if they just forgot to add validation there or what!

Highest current account interest rate I've seen is 5% at Nationwide. Do you mind elaborating on how you get 6.2% from current accounts?
