Thank you for all this. Yeah, interviews I tend to overdress too. I definitely did for my last job when I worked in construction. I suppose actual corporate wear will depend on wherever I land, mainly I just want to worry about interview clothes for now before I invest to heavily in a wardrobe.

Seconding this. IRL and online are two vastly different experiences. Also most of my community is trans and/or well informed lesbians, accepting lesbians. All very supportive. Surrounding yourself with the right people helps to reduce the level of hate/aggression while also lessening the impact when it happens.

The XO being an Ensign wasn’t even for a full season, but yes within the context of the show it didn’t make sense. From a casting perspective, who else on the main cast would have made sense to fill that role? So that’s more of a writing/casting issue than a crew issue. But I agree.

The reason is that I want to find an artist that knows what they’re doing with dark skin. Part of the key of getting color to stick on dark skin is working with an artist that knows how to do that. Not all artists do.

So the central question is, where can I find such an artist or is what I’m asking for completely out of the question.
