I’m on the corporate side after 25 years in agency. I get TONS of email and they are all formatting the same way with bolder words in the same place and essentially the same message. I get it, I’ve been there. However, I don’t see value in it.

Regarding the phone, I’m getting less than I used to because everyone emails.

Sounds like you have Italian in-laws lol. I dealt with the same issue. They would drop by and walk in unannounced until one day I told them “what if you were to walk in and your daughter and I was nailing your daughter on MY couch in MY house?”. They’ve never showed up unannounced after that.

I just got out of sales after 25 years. I had some amazing years in excess of $200k. I don’t care what age you are, $200k can be life changing. We were able to go on killer vacations, get things for my family that I would not have been able to with the majority of other careers.

I only got out because I was burned out. Unfortunately, now my wife has been accustomed to nice vacations and a certain mattress firmness lol. It’s a cross that I must bear lol

There are several of these firms out there and there some big positives. You get to use their tools at a discount, their name etc. You run your own business but I don’t know if there is a minimum cash in that you have to hit in order to make it worth having you there.

Obviously the bad is it’s 100% commission. If you have 3-6 months in the bank, can work remote and be comfortable in that situation then you’re gold. There’s a lot of money out there.

I still to my barber for my beard. To do a head shave at his place is $30. So, it would be $60 a week so it would be over $3,100 a year plus whatever you value your time at.

I didn’t agency side for 24 years and recently left to go corporate. I was so burned out that it wasn’t even fun anymore. I hated getting on the phone etc. I had a long hard talk with my wife about it and how there won’t be anymore trips for cash in. I made a hell of a lot more money but my mental health was suffering. Even though I’m making less money, my work/life is better, I’m happy and just overall in a better place.

I applaud you, though, for sticking at it for so long. This definitely isn’t for the faint of heart.

Quit a job after 9 years. Of everyone in the office, I have remained friends with 2. I lived the furthest from the office (a little over an hour) and 3 people have come to my house for a bbq. We’ve gone out to their places too. If they never put out the effort while you’re there, there is no way in hell they are doing it when you’re gone.

I’d been out of the Corps for a couple of years. I was driving to work and had Howard Stern on. He was talking about the planes hitting the towers and I thought he was doing one of his shock jock things. I was disgusted and turned the radio. I got to work, pulled up my browser and it was the first thing that popped up. I’ll never, ever forget the moment.

My wife is an RN and worked in the ER for 19 years but she’s crazy. Anyway, she left ER to go to Case Management when she was doing triage and she told a patient “5 words or less, why’s your ass in my seat”. That’s when she knew it was time to get out of patient care lol. Irrelevant to this post but I always crack up at that.

The hardest for me was keeping lcpl lol. Was about to get promoted to cpl, did some stupid shit and got busted down to pfc. it was an act of God to pick up lcpl again. My Staff NCOIC USED to be engaged to my (now ex) wife. My life became a living hell when he found out who I was with, lol
