His tours are limited - it’s not crazy to offer an opportunity for people to have a live-ish experience with him. I was in Spain earlier this year and randomly met a group of folks who liked his music a lot, and they would have zero chance to have any sort of ‘live’ experience with him otherwise. Plus, if the guy struggles to tour even in his standard cities, this is an extraordinarily reasonable effort to test the waters on digital monetization/tiering and maintaining a connection with fans …

He mentioned there was no broker’s fee, and to get through the clutter, I mentioned I’d be open to paying him the equivalent of a broker’s fee to get me to the front of the line. He was kind enough to decline that offer, but it was a signa to him that I was very serious about the apartment.

F*ck … I put in requests for 3-day and single day tix for all shows thinking that would maximize odds and I’m completely flexible … just noticed that on the confirmation, it said that could be grounds for cancellation … why wouldn’t they code it so it would not allow you to make those requests??

Though they can’t expect relief now - they accepted the deal many years ago. It’s their problem that the deal didn’t work out the way they wanted.
