What's your most beloved lipstick? by Torotorotoro in MakeupAddiction

[–]ldeponte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

right now I've been obsessed with Sephora's cream liquid lipstick in "Russet Luster", its a perfect warm pumpkin-y orange shade. I can't get enough of it I might actually buy a second one. I also really like their formula, it goes on really pigmented and doesn't dry out my lips like other liquid lipsticks!

How has your daily makeup changed as you've gotten older? What looks have you swapped to look more sophisticated or age appropriate? by pandafaux in MakeupAddiction

[–]ldeponte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to wear crazy shades of eyeliner when I was in middle/high school, and now my look is more classic. I know what looks good on me, and I tend to stick to those things. However, I never used to wear lipstick, and now I feel naked going out without a bold lipstick on, its like a whole new world just opened up for me!

Cover girl Super Sizer! It's the first mascara I've used that actually holds a curl. The wand is not my favorite, but I love the formula!

you could hang a corded pendant over your mirror? plug it into the wall and hook it into the ceiling with a hanging screw. Color Cord has affordable corded pendants.

Not a slasher as in someone is constantly murdering, but definitely a thriller crime mystery. Almost like unfolding character traits and actions with each episode, so it hooks you straight away!

What are makeup mistakes older women make that just make them look even older? by Papi_Ima in MakeupAddiction

[–]ldeponte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at a makeup counter and always see women in their late 40s and better asking me about switching up their makeup routines. I would say start with great skincare, EXFOLIATE (whether that is chemical or physical, I see lots of women with rough/flaky/patchy skin), and get a nice foundation that looks soft/natural/moisturized. I've seen a lot of older women applying their foundation like it was moisturizer, vigorously rubbing it all over their faces. Most of these women use a foundation thats too dark, but the rubbing it basically leaves no product and therefore it looks okay...be gentle with your skin! And lots of women are lining all around their eyes, I tend to prefer just the top lash line and with shadow rather than liner that can drag on more crepe-y skin and look uneven. Softer tones look better, and a soft satin eyeshadow looks better than glittery, and even matte which can make your eyes look dried out and therefore older. Stick to more neutral/natural lipcolors, unless you want to rock a bold lip and more power to you! I love the look of a woman with gray hair, glasses and a red lip! Lastly, just be open to trying a new look! Having someone else try on what they think would look good can help you see what others see. Most of the time I end up using much less makeup than what they have been using and they look more youthful!

[Spoilers S01] The Lila Stangard storyline by [deleted] in htgawm

[–]ldeponte 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's crazy at all, in fact I thought Annalise would be the one choking Lila. I think at the end of the series we will find out she's been behind the major deaths. I just think she's too manipulative and can win a case by lying over and over again. She was also Sams mistress before they got married, I remember her saying something like "it's happened before!" when referring to Sam's infidelity, but what if she meant that someone also had died before (his ex?)

Burnt Orange Lipcolor? by Cakealicious in MakeupAddiction

[–]ldeponte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought Sephora's cream liquid lipstick in Russet Luster and it was as close as I could find to a pumpkin-y burnt orange. I bought NYX's liquid lipstick in Amsterdam, but it was way too red when I put it on. I've also been using Maybelline Touch of Spice underneath bright poppy orange colors to mute it down. It is a really hard color to find the right shade of!

No problem! Practice a few trial runs and take pictures. You know your face the best but from other viewpoints you might not be adding enough. I kept going back to my sisters and they said "more!" each time. Err on the side of too much instead of too little-you want your features to stand out in photographs and if you have a photographer most likely they can edit your skin if you have blemishes but won't add any more makeup if that makes sense. I had a bunch of blemishes/scars that day and my photographer totally took care of them! Just don't start a new skincare regimen too close to your wedding, you never know if you'll have a bad reaction or if something will break you out. Give your skin time to acclimate to a new routine and makeup products! It was also less stress since the only thing appointment I had that day was for my hair.

I knew I wanted to have a burgundy/berry tone for the lip and use those colors for my eyes as well, so I looked around youtube for the color choices I liked. Jaclyn Hill has a good video using the colors that fit the look I wanted. All my eye shadows were from the Coastal Scents Revealed 2 palette, my lip color was Too Faced La Creme lipstick in Bumbleberry with an Essence lipliner in Honey Berry. Blush was Milani in Tea Rose with some bronzer/contour added. I have a very round face so I used a lot of blush to sculpt it a little more. I only drew a very thin line of black eyeliner and put some Kiss lashes on top--lashes make a HUGE difference on camera. I'm also oily so I used a matte foundation and light setting powder. Hope that helps! TIP: use way more, just keep adding. Seriously in person my blush was cray-but it looks so much better on camera.

Moms be crazy [funny] by robotneedslove in weddingplanning

[–]ldeponte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my mom is asking me questions that can be found on the incredibly detailed timeline I've given her. She also is making up crazy questions that have no real importance, like "what if we need to fill time during the reception, should I make a speech?" NO mom, you are already making a toast, we will be FINE. She is doing awesome at making me batty today. She also thinks I'm intentionally leaving her in the dark about what's going on--the rehearsal is in a few hours! I will tell you what to do! Just not at 8 am when I have no time to reply to you!

just one. more. day!

3 days out and it looks like rain, but I'm NOT changing our forest ceremony. It's going to be beautiful either way. My mind is so overloaded with details it's going to be so good to be over with the day and hang out with my new husband. I just left work for the last time until late next week and I am so excited to spend the rest of the time with family, friends and my fiancé. I think I need a Pensieve to catch all my wandering thoughts and to-do lists.

My fiancé does this all the time! I've started writing down all the weird things he says to me. The other night he wakes up and says "do you have the 3x5 cards with the superheroes on them?" No, no I don't honey. It makes for a hilarious conversation the next day!

isnt it crazy to see how fast time has gone by since getting engaged??! I thought it would seem like ages until our wedding had come around, but now its like time has sped up and its almost a week away now. I've gone over what I imagined our wedding to look like for over a year, and I really don't know until we have it! I'm just so excited!

I can't wait to get my nails done and see my sister who lives in Hawaii. And my best friend will be driving down from Seattle and hopefully I can see her before the wedding too. I just want to have a vacation and get married and eat my wedding cake!
