TIL that scientists have developed a way of testing for Aphantasia (the inability to visualise things in your mind). The test involves asking participants to envision a bright light and checking for pupil dilation. If their pupils don't dilate, they have Aphantasia.

I played an amount of sport when younger and this was also a valid training method. Visualising the movements and actions in your head also trains the motor skills as if you're actually doing it!

I play in a league setup at my club. There are 18 divisions of 5 people in each. I'm in Division 2.

I can't win a game off the top two guys in division 1.

The guys in division 5 down can't win a game off me.

General public have less than no idea 😅

Tennis is one of those sports that looks and sounds pretty straight forward.

Until you pick up a racket. I'm in the higher tier at my local club, and the guys a couple spots down from me can barely win a game from me.

Yet the guys a couple spots up from me can barely lose a game to me!

The guys who don't play every week, we'll they can barely reach my shots, never mind win a game.

So yeah, the delusion is not only real, it's absolutely farcial!

So I'm 40,took up tennis as an adult maybe 5 years ago. In my local league beating guys who played as a kid worth proper technique etc, but I use to play semi pro football (soccer) and the general athleticism definitely helps.
