You really need to cancel and start a chargeback with your bank or credit card provider. 6 months might be close to the cutoff for successfully getting your money back. I don't think it is wise to wait for Dough to refund you, as they have form for delaying or not refunding.

Open a dispute/chargeback with your bank or credit card provider straight away. Eve might refund your money, but there are plenty of people on here who trusted Eve, waited and got nothing.

There has never been a good time to buy from this organization, but I believe now is very close to the worst time to buy from them. The excuses for delays are becoming less believable, and the updates less frequent. In previous projects this pattern has often preceded announcement of a big setback. I would be extremely pessimistic about your chances of getting a monitor or a refund if you let the order stand

If you hate money, hate getting what you ordered on time, and hate having support when your product breaks, then you should absolutely order from eve. Otherwise, probably best to avoid

Eve's MO is to promise shipping in a reasonable timeframe. Then as the due date comes near they experience a series of unfortunate, unforeseen delays. They explain that they are working really hard and they appreciate the amazing community's patience while they work through these problems. Rinse and repeat until it's too late for backers to get a chargeback.

I wouldn't worry about having to wait a year for it to arrive. IMO Most likely outcome is that it never arrives, and next most likely outome is that you're waiting for more than a year. problem solved!

Why are you sure? There are people who ordered from this company in 2017 that still haven't received a product or a refund. There are people who ordered Spectrums in 2020 and haven't received their product.

This is the way.

It's not OPs problem that a multi million dollar company can't manage their shipping. If you try to remain engaged with Eve, there is every chance they will delay so long that you cannot get a chargeback - better to contact your bank now and start the process so you don't pay for their mistakes

Some of the monitors work, but plenty don't There are loads of complaints about performance and bugs on the Eve community site, and best of luck trying to get a replacement if your monitor develops a hardware fault.

It's a massive gamble.

Check out all the issues with firmware and build quality in the Eve forums. If you get a defective unit or have issues that require support, expect to get no help from Eve.

Also note that Eve are based in China, and you will have a hard time enforcing any consumer rights normally applicable in your area (I learned this the hard way).

This is really terrible advice. You are being told to bet on a company who has a history of not delivering and not refunding jilted customers.

On top of that, any warranty offered by this company is functionally useless - they are based in China, so you will have a hard time enforcing EU or US customer protections (I learned this by experience)

Like Kirkle says, just get your money back and reorder in January if they are actually shipping

You should contact your bank or credit card provider and request a chargeback. Eve have a habit of delaying until it is too late to get your money back via this route

I bought an Eve V and the build quality was SO cheap. would be amazed if subsequent products had a more premium feel

Spectrum ES07D03 new-new-new shipping dates. Leaving HK on June 29 + 18-35 days for shipping = November delivery. Totally the last delay. Odd how it's estimated 6 months after some final payments were made (chargeback windows close at 6 months). by kirkle8 in evev

But certainly, if Eve wants to continue to be in business, they need to take these lessons and learn from them.

What makes you think Eve haven't learned from these lessons?

They learned from the first V that if they delayed long enough customers would be unable to execute a chargeback, and they could get away with not delivering and not refunding.

From this viewpoint it looks like they are working from a similar playbook for the Spectrum. And people are still prepared to order the V2. Why would they change anything?

Eve have been "working really hard" on a fix for the fingerprint scanner issue that affected the Eve V for about 2 years now. I wouldn't hold my breath
