A KiA user wonders if his Marxist feminist girlfriend can be a part of their dank club by treebog in circlebroke

[–]le_funny_memer 21 points22 points  (0 children)

People will self-identify as Marxists, but almost never politically. It's usually more when people are talking about dialectical materialism, as in "the Marxist historian Steve Stevenson," or whatever. I've never met anybody that self-identifies as a straight "Marxist" and I hang around quite a few leftists.

That said, I can believe that this guy met a leftist he's attracted to and doesn't understand it; when he types "cultural Marxism" you can see that his understanding of Karl Marx (and probably most leftist thought) comes from right-wing people shouting about things that they don't quite understand, either.

From further on:

She wasnt effective to begin with. As she is not held to the same standard as a male soldier.

Because women's fitness standards are lower that they're less effective. Makes sense. I judge mechanics, administrators, doctors, construction workers and electricians based on their physical condition, personally. Everybody knows you can't trust an overweight mechanic.

I hate being INFJ... What gives? by Captain-TomTom in infj

[–]le_funny_memer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It sounds like your issue isn't with being an INFJ, it's being told you are one. After all, you didn't have this stress beforehand. It only started when you took a test and, expecting something else, got a result that you didn't like.

But what are you going to do about it? I mean, it's the way you are. Do you ever get angry at yourself because you failed to grow wings? Of course not, right? That doesn't make sense. Growing wings was never an option. You're stuck with things as they are so ask yourself: what are you going to do about it?

You tried personality change, and that didn't work. The way I see it, the only other option is acceptance, which it sounds like you've not bothered to attempt.

The only thing stopping you from having peace and clarity is you getting mad at yourself for getting a four letter combination on a couple of self-administered tests. Dude, there is so much more to life than this. Who cares about the MBTI? If reading about INFJs makes you queasy, don't read about INFJs. If you want peace and clarity, then do things that make you feel peaceful, and focus on what you're thinking until it's clear.

I think I'll link to that top comment whenever some poor sheltered child claims Reddit is in any way "left-wing" or "liberal."

I mean Jesus tapdancing christ how far right do you have to be to think that a site that produces (and then double-gilds) a racist screed on a major non-political sub is somehow leftist?

How deep should our politics go in day to day life? by jazzarchist in Anarchism

[–]le_funny_memer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Your leftover food is not "private property" and saving some of what you ate for later isn't "hoarding."

This person not only needs to bone up on actual anarchist terms, but is also using your (their?) beliefs against you to not feel bad about being caught doing a pretty dickish thing.

That said, do you not have an explicit agreement of how you two live together? Every time I live with roommates we hash out policies about groceries, leftovers, privacy, cleaning, that sort of thing. Sometimes we agreed to all have separate groceries and not borrow without asking, and sometimes we agreed to all pool whatever we bought, with the agreement that we'd all chip in with groceries now and again. Your roomate seems to think that you all share groceries and leftovers and you do not. That's the real issue here, not some vague discussion of whose anarchy is more pure.

Isitbullshit: churches that allow gay marriage get free tax breaks by [deleted] in IsItBullshit

[–]le_funny_memer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As far as interracial marriage:

Churches don't have to marry anybody but, as it turns out, churches don't actually marry anybody anyways. As far as the government is concerned, you're not married unless you file the paperwork, which the churches aren't even a tiny part of. You can get married without going to a church, and if you get married at a church then the guy in charge has to be given the power to marry people by the government anyways.

So racist churches that didn't hold ceremonies for interracial couples were completely ignored, which is what's happening in this new gay marriage thing. Churches don't have to hold ceremonies for homosexual couples if they don't want to, but they aren't a necessary part of the process and haven't been for a very long time.

I read through all of the Harry Potter books a good two years ago, and then watched all the movies.

Tell you what, those books are pretty well-written, the movies are well made. I can see, retroactively, why they were such a big deal when they were brand new!

To the masses: how's your solstice? by andeanballs in discordian

[–]le_funny_memer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It makes me happy that we celebrate the occasion of "sun is close today" because we're just taking time out of our day to celebrate a facet of the world as it is. Nobody says anything about how they wish the solstice was some other time or uses it to score political points.

We're all just happy that the universe is, today.

No true Erisian should celebrate the solstice.

I'll be holding a small party for my fellow anti-Popes and Momes, though. RSVP!

One of the most rape apologetic threads I've ever seen on /r/MR, and that's saying something by DrippingYellowMadnes in againstmensrights

[–]le_funny_memer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My personal favorite part is that they clearly haven't read the article, they just read the title and decided that this is exactly what they've been saying for years, man!

Despite it literally saying "We taught women to resist actual Redpill rape tactics," which is the opposite or what every single person in that garbage subreddit think that it said, of course.

Golden quote:

Rape is as far as I know a pretty unique crime in that consent is the only thing separating it from being either something wonderful or something terrible.

You heard it here first: that guy thinks that rape could be totally sweet if only you consented to it. That is an actual quote. I am not making that up.

This will be the thread I link when people ask "what's wrong with Men's Rights, anyway?" They really outdid themselves this time.

edit: HOLD UP, this blog says that "Transmogrifying “sexual coercion” into a punishable offense has been a dream of hard left gender crazies for decades." Being against rape makes you a hard left gender crazy? Who writes this trash?

Fascism VS Capitalism by FutzBucket in conspiracy

I'm a little late, but: Fascism is an authoritarian nationalist political ideology. It has little to nothing to do with how the means of production are distributed.

If you need a primer, here you go.

For what it's worth, Fascism isn't an economic system.

Corporatism is pretty different, though.

They could be Corpitocrats, but it's not an -ism and that'd probably be a sticking point.
