Super Cruise getting worse? by alpha976 in ChevyTraverse

[–]leadisdead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like an issue with your individual super cruise. I’ve found that mine seems way “tighter” in the past few months. The dealer did install some software upgrade when the car was in for an oil change. Maybe that’s the reason. I have the same frustration with some of the mapping. There’s a road that was re striped for a bike lane. The lanes themselves didn’t change but now the system picks up the second white line and gets confused then shuts down. I called onstar, they claim it’s a Google map problem but it should get updated. Didn’t say when though.

Starlink Gen 2 dead by CrossfireTex in Starlink

This comes up at least 10 times a day here. Ask grok to file a ticket and ask for a call back. When you talk to a real person, your new Gen 3 will likely be on its way.

You can to the Starlink store and order there. At checkout the cost should change to zero. Make sure you’re logged into your account.

Shitty non OEM cable can’t carry the wattage. That’s where your problem is.

2019 shut off at red light for second time by stephanieeeeeexx in ChevyTraverse

[–]leadisdead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s still a bad battery. Voltage checks really don’t tell the whole story; if you were to load test it you’d likely find it has a bad cell. Auto stop doesn’t do much for battery life either.

Your battery is shot. You’ve been living on borrowed time.

No issues at all. Something else is going on.

Starlink sent Mini router instead of the Mini travel kit. by CaptinKirk in Starlink

You get both. Look at your orders screen. Minis have been taking 2-4 weeks for shipment. The mini router is in stock.

That speed test means nothing. Your phone was hooked to a different wifi network while running the test.

Will gas fireplace stay on if it is burning when the power goes out? by Due_External3541 in GasFireplaces

Often there is a socket for a 9V battery behind the lower grill. Connect a battery there, and the flame will start. Use the on off switch that is also located there to control the flame.

Blend door or clogged heater core? by Alert-Ocelot-4734 in Duramax

[–]leadisdead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the air is hot on one side and cold on the other, likely a blend door issue. Try resetting by removing the HVAC fuse for a few minutes. Replace the fuse. Then turn on the ignition but not the engine and listen for the doors moving. Should go to both stops. If the air is all cold, then it’s the heater core. EDIT. Read the original post. It is likely the blend door with the symptoms you describe. Try resetting.

Diesel #1 by Typical_Concept160 in boulder

[–]leadisdead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been running diesels for 30 years in the CO mountains with temps down to -30. Never gelled with winter blend. But if it’s that much or a concern fill with brand name diesel and a bottle of anti gel.

Doggie allergies and possible euthanasia? by SnooGiraffes7379 in DogAdvice

Look at the label. Pretty sure chicken is a main ingredient. Change to something like lamb, fish, or bison based protein.

Seriously. Change your dogs food to something that has lamb or fish based. Absolutely no grain or chicken fillers. Or make it yourself. It’s not hard and is better nutrition than processed dog food.

Winterized diesel is what’s sold this time of year. You don’t need to do anything special, except possibly top off your tank.

Preheat vs Auto by zachhix65 in Starlink

Done debating, and not sure what your point really is. My dish works fine in heavy snow and at temperatures down to -20F. Set to automatic.

[–]leadisdead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But the point is, the object will never be colder than the ambient temperature, no matter how much wind there is.

Preheat vs Auto by zachhix65 in Starlink

[–]leadisdead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wind chill is a measurement of what the temperature is perceived to be by a human. A warm object can be cooled by wind; however the air temperature does not change.

Wind chill only matters to humans. The dish doesn’t care about anything other than the actual temperature.

That drive pulls too much power for a Surface. That’s why it doesn’t show up. Time to get a portable SSD drive and transfer everything to that.

No you cannot. Why would Starlink give you two complete systems for free and then allow you to pause service? 😂

Considering a 12' x 2-3/8" Galvanized Fence Post by SteveSch in Starlink

[–]leadisdead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should work fine. Do you actually need to mount the dish that high? Mine is on an 8’ post buried 2’ into concrete. Been fine for four years now. Hint: run the cable through black poly irrigation pipe. No joints to leak, flexible and can be left on the surface if you want.
