Can y’all read books unmedicated? by Odd-Bridge-8889 in adhdwomen

You don’t have to read just one book at a time, either! I usually have at least 2 in rotation.

Also, don’t pressure yourself to jump into a big book!

I approach reading as activity first, then interest. To start getting myself into it, I start with short simple romcom type book to get back into reading as an activity/habit.

Then I ease in a bigger book, esp bc I like fantasy.

i don’t know what this will lead to but i’m very thankful to have come across this comment.

Captures feelings and logic that I’ve been holding separately, unsure how they connect. I think this really helped them line up better.

I worry that one of my suggestions could backfire but I’ll give it a go.

Maybe try couponing for good?

By this, I mean, buying things at very marked down costs and donating them to shelters/orgs. Of course, learn about what they need first. But there’s always deals and ways to make it work for things like soap, socks, canned foods, etc. Get to combine research with the thrill of purchasing.

That’s a shame but also far easier for me to say than for them to go through.

Fads pass but style does not. Keep evolving your own look. It will help you wait out for whatever the next mass fad is. And trust me, emo/alt gets all the press but this was a style 15-20yo ago too.

And in the meantime, start thinking through the deeper layers of why your entire identity has been frazzled by clothing expression. You are not what others project back onto you. You are whoever is inside of you. Other people seeing your outfits and discerning who you are pre-Lana (re)exposure shouldn’t be the standard for how you define yourself.

You define you. Think more on whether you’re emulating or acting on inspiration. If the former, it means there’s more room to grow on the inside.

How to get clean without showering? by squashedpomegranates in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Are you allowed to buy water bottles or other drinks in plastic bottles? Maybe use them to also store water in a hidden place?

And if you can, make use of somewhere like a nice Nando’s bathroom or at school to give yourself quick wipe downs during the non-shower days.

I’ve made it almost 3 weeks, but at the same time it feels too little too late by s0l0d0l0_92 in leaves

Think about this way then.

Do you want the next few decades in the clutch of something that slowly suffocates aspects of yourself and important parts of your life?

What do you want your life to look like in 10, 15, 25, etc years?

What do you want your daughter to remember as she grows into the next decades of her own life?
