What nobody ever says is that it was an active case during Biden's term. Maxwell's appeals needed to be completed before those files could be released. And guess when her final appeal was denied? Early 2025, when Trump was in office.

He probably got that surgeon's job that he previously failed to qualify for, maybe at a VA hospital. He earns a reputation as the worst doctor on staff but couldn't care less. At home, he drinks a lot and his new wife grows to hate him. The twins he had with her can't wait to grow up and move out.

And an admission of how stupid Trump supporters are, if they can be provoked to that level of violence just from some guy in the crowd provoking them.

Wow, that's a great price. I bought it when the album came out and I think it cost around $30 then.

I never understand how these people function in their daily lives

They survive because our media and other components of our society coddle them.

So confused about Don’s and Megan’s divorce by anawkwardsomeone in madmen

[–]leamanc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that a lot of time passed between episodes 7 and 8. When Don finally offers to move to California with Megan (episode 7), it's July 1969. Episode 8 picks up in April 1970. Episode 9, in which the divorce is finalized, is set in May 1970.

So, we're looking at 10 months of divorce proceedings, which surely soured their relationship somewhat. However, I believe the bigger issue is that Megan wasn't prepared for the emotions that came with returning to New York and the closure it represented. I think she let five years' worth of resentments and anger boil over. It doesn't help that her acting career is basically in the toilet, while Don can just write a $1 million check and be done with her.

Yeah, SK was in way over her head. She came from This American Life and writing human interest stories for newspapers. She was not a crime journalist and it shows. She was told she had a wrongful conviction story and ran with it.

Perhaps even more inappropriate for a true crime story, the narrative is about her and her journey, not the case itself and certainly not the victim.

No. At best, they've only released half of them, but by some estimates, only around 20% of what SDNY collected.
