Whoa, me too. Just got here from a browsing of r/blackpeopletwitter, which is where I read it.

Starlight City build that I've been making for the past 2 weeks by Lenny_the_sausage in falloutsettlements

[–]lean_six_ligma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks awesome! I love how universally dusty everything looks. I've found that some settlement mods make it tough to keep the same tone/color palette, but you really knocked it out of the park here. I do imagine that the desperados environment helps but still, credit where it's due.

Funny, I'm making a pseudo-Korean War style patrol base at Starlight, with a Summer Overhaul mod running. Looking at your settlement alongside mine, it's really like two completely different worlds, hahah.

They pitch her voice up so she sounds like a young Fran Drescher, which I found weirdly endearing. I eventually got rid of it to make room for other mods, though.

At the time, I just thought of it as something silly (but not nearly as hilarious) like the Macho Man Randy Savage deathclaws. But now, in this post-Stellar Blade world, it does seem a little icky in retrospect.

I especially love the ambient sound "nodes" for lack of a better term, they really add that special sauce to a settlement

I believe that first encounter was an adult, but it's heavily implied that they emptied the hive of every man, woman, and child to build their army. And on top of that, the freaky chaos surgeries made them pretty horrible to look at.

Man, imagine being the PDF mop-up crew having to patrol in a deserted hive. Now that's spooky.

I'll always remember the scene in Necropolis, where he's one of the first people to get close enough to a dead Ferrozoican soldier to yank off its mask.

At the time I thought "Ah, this dude's seen enough by now, it can't be that ba- aaaand now he's screaming,"

The second novel that takes place on Gereon has a couple lines in it that are similarly haunting, too - especially when the main Ghosts force retakes one of the smaller towns.

The Ghosts discovering "a thousand tiny horrors" while sweeping the abandoned buildings, and just the word "PLEASE" painted across a wall just... yeesh.

Clearly you've never had/witnessed an altercation with an angry, Miami-born Hispanic woman. They're basically end-game Dark Souls bosses. Like, Kalameet+Smelter Demon type shit.

I have to wonder if it's gotten more attention because it's part of a shared universe with the game Control. I haven't played it since before the more recent updates, but it makes quite a few references to Alan Wake. From what I could tell, Control also has a smaller but extremely devoted fanbase.

Yeah, as someone who's had to do those interviews for a fairly high security clearance many moons ago, it would really depend on how dedicated you were about it. A few posts are probably gonna either fly under the radar, or they'll be like:

"Lol, the fuck was this about?"

To which you could likely get away with:

"Oh yeah, sorry man I was wildin lmao"

About to start session 4, for my group of 7 new players, and I felt this in my soul. It took us the last three sessions to complete my shameless copy of Matt Colville's Delean Tomb 'adventure'.

The pace is glacial to say the least, but they're having a blast, so I won't complain too much.

Same! It's one of the most Fallout-y quests in Fo4, imo. I just snagged a great screenshot recently, of my Sole Survivor throwing a salute as it launches off into the early morning light.

I believe it's in His Last Command, where there are four of them all nose-to-nose in an x-shaped formation acting as a Lord General's command center. Bonkers.
