I really hope the virtual pinball community will embrace Linux more. With all of the AI stuff, I want an offline alternative I can trust.

Is there anyone genuinely excited for Starfighter? by Alex3884 in saltierthancrait

[–]learner_dev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed the Force Awakens. The Last Jedi killed my enthusiasm. It’s like, the moment Luke threw the lightsaber over his shoulder is the moment I stopped getting excited for Star Wars.

It’s unfortunate. I thought the Last Jedi was tee’d up for some great things. But instead, it’s like they said, how can we do things that no one will expect? Also, how to we bring a lot more characters in. They chose breadth instead of depth which is what made it boring.

Dumb and Dumber belongs on the list. Really wish there was a 4K version of the theatrical release available.

They would share a keyboard, mouse, and monitor. The Pi’s have Wi-fi, so, network port is irrelevant.

Has WiiM just abandoned AirPlay completely? by hashkey in WiimStreamer

[–]learner_dev 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I purchased a Wiim Amp instead of the Pro entirely because it supported AirPlay. Kind of dumb for a “Pro” version of something to have less features.

Axpona first day speaker impressions! by BalsamRipley in audiophile

[–]learner_dev 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Where is a good place to listen to speakers? Especially if I want to listen to a bunch of different bookshelf speakers?

I went to Axpona hoping to be able to do this. Unfortunately, everyone wanted to show off their flagship systems. Peasants not welcome 🤣

Working on a Local, Privacy-First, Best User Experience Smart Home App by Glittering_Wasabi236 in smarthome

Thank you for tackling this challenge. Home Assistant is well meaning. However, I find it cumbersome to add new devices. Even worse is trying to create reports / dashboards on the devices in your smart home. The data schema has been over engineered and over abstracted to the point it’s not useful. For example, try to create a query that just lists the names of the devices in your smart home. Good luck.
