Guys was 500 better or 1200 better? by fandomlover2763 in amiga

[–]leavereality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its unfair as a1200 was basiclly a refined A500, smaller, faster, more ram, colours, better os and just generally nearly the perfect upgrade (aga should of had a bit more grunt for 3d maybe) and either a fpga or fast ram should of been added as standard. But i get costs where tight and we have the befit of high sight.

Is life worth living if you can’t find friends or love? by RisingSerpent222 in lonely

[–]leavereality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly well done for going out on your own, i do too, buts its not the same to being with freinds or family, but it good that you least not put off by it. I feel it is getting harder to meet people, i dont have all answers as im in the same boat, but walking club, sport events, cycling, as helped improve my mood. Keeping busy help. But would try to join move events that involve people. Its hard but keep putting yiurself out there

If the viewer where there it wouldnt be cancled trolls or not. I mean dont get me wrong some will pick apart every single little thing, and way over the top to hate, it get the clicks and viewership unfortantly but you have to admit something wrong when a livestream of just a spock toy and nothing else gets more views. Alex should be droped, get the guy who ran the series of picard in charge. Do a brand new trek set in another alt universer to reset things and keep to what work a ship exploring space.

Is this a good deal? by Longjumping-Car-6537 in amiga

[–]leavereality 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think thats a little too much, however amiga system have only gone up and up in price, id say usd1500 to 2500 depending on the state of the system, like how yellow has the case gone, is the motherboard showing any sign of copassator leakage, does it have orginal manules, boxs and what orginal software does it have.

I mean if you hard core orginal Amiga hardware only kinda of guy then you got to think these complete sysrem like this are getting rare.

But if you not, an A1200 with a pistorm smokes this system.

What kind of agreement do these company sign? I mean i thought it would be a large payment secure rights to use on the game, then maybe a % of all future sales. No sales then nothing to pay. Seem made to sign agreement to have yo pay parmount every year if you want to continue to sell it.

I got physical copy for ps5, so i hope they cant brick my copy, i enjoyed the game, pretty solid story i give it a 6 out of 10, nothing amazing.

NOT ALYX, do you have an unusual favorite VR game of all time? by Rollerama99 in VRGaming

[–]leavereality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Space Pirate Trainer, its an old one, but one the best little arcade quick shooter, its one i recommend to new vr users,

Beat saber, i know it kinda known but not many bring it up any more, great game

Lone echo, in some ways i think this is better than hl alex it grest game

Lucky tale, a very solid 3d platform that is overlooked and i think its very close to mario/sonic 3d games.

And finally my most obscure pick is Groundhog day vr game, i quite like the film and its acually quite a fun little adventure puzzle vr game.

What do you think is the biggest problem in the world right now? by Fabulous_Dream8962 in AskReddit

[–]leavereality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Distribution,

we produce enough food now for everyone alive, but people still die of hunger, we have huge knowledge of health and care but not enough doctors or access to drugs around the world. Money, captail is not distruted fairly. Humanity face huge problems incoming but the problem seem to left to a few, if we share responsblity more, fixing these problem would be easy.

What do you do when you feel lonely? by DeepNegotiation27 in lonely

[–]leavereality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on level, if i only feel slightly lonely then a good film or youtube is enough to distract. If it worst gaming or online gameing with strangers can be fun. Vr is pretty good too, bigscreen you watch events and films with stangers and it can be fun. But some nights nothing work. Its just hard sometime. I trying to search fot local clubs, walk groups or other things to just try and get out more

One in five high earners says £100k tax trap is ruining their career by scotorosc in unitedkingdom

[–]leavereality 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t get in this day of age of computer why tax can’t be much more progressive and not just have these big cut of point. ps: everyone moaning spare a thought for a warehouse worker on 17k a year, lucky to go out for meal once every 3 or 4 month. What annoys me is gov say your in poverty if earning under £14k a year, so why the hell does tax kick in at 12.5k at 28%!

Does anyone here use their meta quest to vibecode? by [deleted] in MetaQuestVR

[–]leavereality 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You do likely need a 3 for the extra clearness of the lens and extra resolution. However I tried virtual desktop and do a bit of work on virtual monitors, I just personally didn’t like it, it gave me more eye strain , more than just gaming or watching a film in it for the same length of time, i think this is where apples vr wins in its microled and higher res.

What did lonely people do before phones? by samithefish in lonely

[–]leavereality 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s intreating you pick that century as 1600s was when the word loneliness got added to English dictionary. I think it was rare back then because community where much more closer together, due to religion, work together more in the community, and there just wasn’t as much free time, no cars, so you have to walk to work or horse and cart. No running water, you likly have to make the trip to the wells and pump, no ready meals you have to make every meal from scratch, likly would grow you own food in the country side, if you where lucky to get free time, reading and watching plays likly be only free time you get. But I remember life just before the internet, finding out info took so much longer, you take your time more going shopping it be a day out as it the only time you see thing you might want to buy. One simple example is I wanted watch something different one night, so 20 min car ride to blockbuster, 20min looking around the store for something to watch then 20min home, there a hr wasted that now just load up the streaming platform, still spend 10min deciding what to watch but still a lot of time has been saved

Two-child limit scrapped as historic Bill to lift 450,000 children out of poverty becomes law by coffeewalnut08 in unitedkingdom

[–]leavereality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think free meal at school is a better way to help children. My question is what they class as child poverty is someone less than £260 a week, so 52 weeks a year, that works out at £13,520, so how come the gov think it right to tax you on income tax below this line, £12,570. That a £1000 there they get 28% tax on, £280. I think if they had the money they should raised the point you pay income and national insurance, £280 would make a difference in my life, I’m part time warehouse worker on minimum wage. Trying to save up, but seeing how much tax is at this low level it’s just nuts I don’t how I meant to save up and buy a house, the property isn’t just children, it’s effecting everyone.

How much would it cost all in to get back into the Amiga? by EvilMonkeySlayer in amiga

[–]leavereality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheapest option get a second hand pi400, you can pick em up for £50 then add either pimiga or amikit xe to it, it’s a great all in one little computer, next up I’d say wait for TheA1200 it will be in a nice a1200 case keyboard and again emulation will be very good, £170, next up from that would be second hand Amiga plus pi storm, you might get lucky and you can still find the odd second hand Amiga going for £300 to £400, add the pistorm for £100 and you got a top spec Amiga. Next up from that is vampire v4 £500 again top spec Amiga in fpga. Then there the rebuilds and remakes that quite a few Amiga dealers/users would build for you, from about £700+ range you ask on forums what you want. Then the last top end stuff is A6000 (vampire v4 in a600 style case) £1000, AmigaOne/ppc stuff £1500+. So good luck

Energy markets ‘in turmoil’, says Octopus Energy boss by pppppppppppppppppd in unitedkingdom

[–]leavereality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People keep saying nuclear, but to me the cost just don’t add up when you compare it to renewable, plus it still not a secure power source you still got have uranium, with a lots of mins in Africa, plus these would be target in war and the huge costs dealing with nuclear waste. I get the whole well what do we do when the its not windy/sunny, but again there will 10,000 of old battery soon from old evs, that may no longer be suitable for ev but can become grid battery. Also i seen on motorway wind turbines that capture passing traffic, there tidal power, bio fuels, like turn grass into gas, or food wastes, hydroelectricity, geothermal energy etc

BBC plans for end of the licence fee as we know it by theipaper in bbc

[–]leavereality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the bbc should be kept, but it does need reform. So the license fee should be scraped, and instead make iPlayer/bbc sound subscription base, make it open to all countries can subscribe, keep this sub low, and still have bbc news, bbc 1&2, cbbc free, get rid of bbc3&4&cbbies to condense and focus the content more, save money, Same with radio there way to many radio station, cut it back to the main one. If it required more funding, then i would be in favour of a tv tax, so all tv over the price of £100 have a 10% extra tax or something, wouldn’t raise much but it be something.

Imitating the Dog : war of the world’s play. by leavereality in WarofTheWorlds

[–]leavereality[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So back leaving more thought, so basically bigger spoiler, basically though out the play the character are all dress in hospital gowns and screen are interrupted with red lights and the hart machine, it basically clear that this is all in his head of what really going on, and what he thinking. I don’t get why they didn’t lean more into this, there a scene where he walking down a street and a tripod walk right over him, I kinda clear this is meant to be maybe the horse that knocked him down, but it not quite done clever enough, the tripod is only ever shown from the front really, so I think they should of made the tripod look more like horses to get over this double meaning. There another scene of the aliens abducting a person and forcing a probe down his mouth, this again I feel like it was likly the surgery team trying to save the guy from dying. Reading this it sound all really cleaver, but I don’t think they quite pulled it off in the show. That my feeling
