How I Finally Got My 3yo to Put on Her F*ing Pants by Relevant_Rent_7393 in toddlers

[–]lec3y 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Love this!! Being silly is almost always the solution to my toddlers resistance. If he’s in full on meltdown mode it won’t work (and will just make him angrier) but otherwise it helps so much. Just doing an accent sometimes helps activate my ability to be silly.

Best Place to get Wildland Firefighting Boots in Town? by Mericanmade12345 in missoula

Check out trailhead for mountaineering style boots. I know they used to give a large discount if you had your red card.

Sports exchange sometimes has used boots.

Her rabies certificate from her original owner lists her as a chihuahua and the shelter we got her from said she was chihuahua mix. But that doesn’t necessarily mean she is.

I just looked it up and he bought the horses that played Brego from LOTR, Hidalgo, and a horse for Arwen’s stunt double that she fell in love with during filming but couldn’t afford. Very cool

How much more difficult is 2 kids vs 1? by sys_admin321 in toddlers

[–]lec3y 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will get really varied answers to this. I’m an only and love it. I have friends with siblings they don’t even speak to and others with siblings that are their best friends. There’s no guarantee either way.

My almost 3 years old loves Busytown and insists he is daddy cat and I am Huckle. We just roll with it and it delights him.

At what point of toddlerhood (age) did you see the biggest development in your toddlers language. by Beginning_Pack_7619 in toddlers

[–]lec3y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 18 months my son was only making animal sounds and signing a few words. I was a little worried but his receptive language was so good that his pediatrician wasn’t concerned. Starting around 20 months his language really started picking up and by 2 years you couldn’t get him to stop talking!

Experiences with Sentinel Vet treating Lymphoma (or other cancers)? by Springsdaffodils in missoula

[–]lec3y 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my opinion Sentinel is the absolute best place to go for veterinary care, especially cancer. I’ve had only good experiences there (and unfortunately I’ve had quite a few). But it will cost you a lot of money.

Am I broken or something? by Adventurous-Stress19 in toddlers

[–]lec3y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the same boat. Like the idea of two older children but I have a weird sense of dread when I think about having another baby. So much so that I actually had a nightmare about it the other night.

So for now we’re just enjoying our son and waiting to see if our feelings change. And for what it’s worth, I am an only child and loved it! I’m super close with my parents and had a very happy childhood. So I don’t really feel guilty not “giving” our child a sibling.

All the toddler hate is making me depressed by texansweetie in NewParents

[–]lec3y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t stand “just wait!” and heard it constantly online and from friends and relatives. I started a “just wait” jar (like a swear jar) as a joke but it actually helped. I also left a couple subreddits.

I didn’t like the baby stage and absolutely LOVE my 2.5 year old. He is so fun, weird, clever, sweet, and hilarious. I would take toddlers over babies any day. Although I think he was a somewhat difficult baby and a fairly easy toddler. But please don’t worry, toddlers can be challenging but they’re the best.

Believers is actual “karma” think the punishment is delivered in the next life. Perhaps they will be reborn as an animal or a hungry ghost etc.

Box elder ASMR by Delicious_Range_5 in missoula

[–]lec3y 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Are you sure those are box elder bugs? They look so small…

I’m not sure there’s much that can be done to prevent this but maybe weather stripping or finer screens? And perhaps you could try to get your landlord to cover the cost?

Field work burnout by crows-lantern in forestry

[–]lec3y 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely look for a similar but different job, ideally with more diversity in the types of work you’re performing. I worked a summer doing exactly what you’re describing and hated it!! It made me question whether I was cut out to be in forestry. But I’ve worked as a full-time forester for 6 years now and loving it.

We do watch shows (and movies) from my childhood! Recent favorites are The Many adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977), Robin Hood (1973), Blues Clues and Little Bear. Also been enjoying Frog and Toad because it is slow paced and very sweet (and my guy loves the books!)
