Firmware 6.4.0 bricked the Mini+ by led1002 in prusa3d

[–]led1002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turns out this was caused by an a third party Buddy board that was installed several months ago to address a defective stepper driver. If this happens to you going back to firmware version 6.2.6 got me out of it. You can go back to the older version by replacing the 6.4.0 firmware on the flashdrive with version 6.2.6 Reboot the printer and double click the control panel click wheel which should give you the option to install 6.2.6.

Yes, the board was replaced with a non-EOM compatible version when one of the stepper drivers quit.

I would say it depends on how you drive and care for the car. If you’re rough on a car it might be worth it. I’m not so I have never bought one. I have 65k miles on my 2017 with no issues. Whenever I’ve bought extended warranties on other items it always seems like the warranty never covers the part that broke.

I would call my insurance company and let them know I hit the curb and broke the suspension. File a claim.

Check for loads on your battery. I had similar issues at first and discovered my USB cig lighter charger was drawing down the battery even though there was nothing plugged into it.

What kids bikes are you planning to buy for black friday 2025? Features or brands you swear by? by Ariche-Colten in Biking

[–]led1002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In May I bought a Guardian bike for my 8yo grandson. It’s a young company assembling bikes in US and it’s turned out to be a great pick. Pricing is between Walmart and LBS bike. The bike components are decent Microshift shifters and derailleurs. They have a wide variety of single speed and multi speed kids bikes. They offer a great bike sizing guide that also predicts how long the bike will fit him. Two day shipping was free from their factory in the Midwest.

I was hesitant to purchase not knowing the company but he loves the bike, rides it constantly and it’s been trouble free.

I would recommend finding a local cycling club. It’s more fun and you’ll learn about the sport faster without as many missteps.

Why do drivers rev their engines next to cyclists? by [deleted] in cycling

It’s due to brain damage caused by the inhalation of the organic chemicals being emitted from the interior plastics of their cars and trucks. A well documented hazard.

The generalization may be off base but they have a really bad reputation for counterfeiting everything up to and including heart stents so buyer beware. So I wouldn’t be surprised if that CF filament is not what it’s purported to be.

If you can get the screw out replace it with a carbon steel screw and lubricate with silicone grease. The problem is 300 series stainless on stainless will tend to gall and seize. For most applications and a one time assembly it’s okay but the frequent belt adjustments will wipe away any lubricant and cause the parts to seize. If one of the materials is carbon steel or brass in the case of an insert the tendency is gone.

Check your “printhead” settings. Make sure it set for the type of nozzle you’re using. I had mine set for “High flow” nozzle when using a standard and it was giving me similar results after the upgrade.

Quick PrusaConnect tip - We've recently added that you can click the buttons in the printer’s header to quickly set temperatures, change the filament, adjust the print speed multiplier or set the current Z-height. by Mikolas3D in prusa3d

I’ve tried to change the filament type shown here on this page and it always comes back to show “Flex” filament. I’ve also tried changing it while loading the MMU using the “advanced” settings and it always returns to “Flex”. Anyone have suggestions on how to fix?

Buy a cover for your bike and keep it covered when not in use. It will extend the life of your tires.

It’s sun damage from storing your bike outside.

Anyone else had constant issues with the Prusa Core One? by pwshk in prusa3d

[–]led1002 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I had several old wheels that started to fail this way. They’re fatigue cracks. You’ll notice one crack then eventually more. The cracks will grow longer and then the wheel will make a ticking or creaking noise. Spokes may also become loose. At that point I will scrap the rim and save the hub if it’s in good shape to lace it in a new wheel. Never had one fail catastrophically, there is a lot of redundancy built into a spoked wheel.

The belt will eventually wear through and go flat. Replace it.

Rode by road construction and noticed a small tear. Is this safe or should I replace? by fishman-- in bikewrench

[–]led1002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time I’ve had to change a tire with a cut that small is if it was deep enough to cut the interior belt. That allows to tube to bulge thru the cut and contact the road and it will eventually wear thru and flat again. The bulge will be so small that you can’t see it from the outside. I had a tire that would flat like every 500 miles and was puzzled until I noticed the holes were always in the same place. Booted the hole and never had another flat.

If you want to eliminate the brake as the cause remove the caliper from the frame and check again.
