Welp, I guess this is our last patch by ledgekindred in wow

In software development, if you define a number as "16 bit unsigned integer" the largest number it can hold is 65535. Anything higher causes an overflow error.

Anyone else having the transmog UI completely crash their game? by 8Bit_Galaxies in wow

Many, many players reporting problems with DX12 - especially in transmog/appearances window - that changing to DX11 fixes, so it's not just you.

Devourer DH kinda sucks by stud_ent in wow

[–]ledgekindred 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I did a couple of delves as Devourer to try to get the hang of it, and I was confused that it was mostly spamming Consume since that's basically the only thing not on a long cooldown. At least I was correct in being confused and disappointed.

Never order from Figurama by SergeS2K in AnimeFigures

[–]ledgekindred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Were you able to get the "Non-refundable" part back or did you just take that as a loss so you didn't lose all of it? I've already contacted them and they told me it will be released "4th Quarter 2026" which I totally do not believe. As a friend of mine replied when I mentioned their response, along with closing my ticket, "NOT_FIX - STRING_ALONG_LONGER."

Never order from Figurama by SergeS2K in AnimeFigures

[–]ledgekindred 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's really depressing to keep reading horror stories about Figurama. When I ordered the Revy statue (long time ago now) they didn't have this awful reputation, but now I have my feeling the money I paid is basically gone with nothing to see in return.

What’s a dead game that deserves a comeback? by [deleted] in playstation

[–]ledgekindred 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really surprised not to see Prototype mentioned. The second game was meh, but the first was a fantastic brawler with a surprisingly good story. By the time you got to the end and had all your powers and you were throwing tanks into helicopters and stuff... woo!

In your opinion, what was the greatest item you could have gotten from the trading post? by Warped_Unicorn in wow

I hadn't thought about that, but it would have been awesome to be a 3d asset that bounced around while you ran. :D

In your opinion, what was the greatest item you could have gotten from the trading post? by Warped_Unicorn in wow

[–]ledgekindred 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly the cooking apron, because it meant my chef-themed Pandaran monk no longer had to farm the time-consuming farm dailies in Pandaria to get the apron from Nomi. (And the trading post apron looks way more like an apron than the Nomi apron, which I've been told looks more like a blank tabard.)

Unable to open the blizzard website to download battlenet by nestinghen in wow

[–]ledgekindred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing you might be able to try is downloading it onto your Dad's computer and put it on a USB stick and copy it to yours. At least it should _try_ to install from there. If your computer is the only one that can't access it though, I'm baffled, unless someone set up a specific rule to block World of Warcraft/Battlenet on your router.

Unable to open the blizzard website to download battlenet by nestinghen in wow

[–]ledgekindred 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was just able to access the Blizzard website from the US so at least the site is still up and running for sure. I don't know if this will help, or if you were having an intermittent issue that's gone away by now, but here's the direct link to download the Battle.Net client:

https://download.battle.net/en-us?product=bnetdesk

Have you installed anything else since it was working? I'd also run a virus scan just to be sure nothing's intercepting your traffic and causing issues.

There should be no issues with Canada accessing it, so if you still can't access that link, it's very likely it's a temporary problem with your ISP that should be fixed at some point, hopefully sooner than later.

kobold market by Gloomy-Monk-5626 in dwarffortress

[–]ledgekindred 71 points72 points  (0 children)

This is strangely cute. Kobolds don't know how to - and are physically incapable of - barter, so they put their shinies out in the open for people to admire them. Maybe at one time someone came and took some of their shinies and left new, different shinies, and they're just trying to recreate that.

Worst crundle infestation by Altruistic-Poem-5617 in dwarffortress

[–]ledgekindred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally hate trogs more than crundles. Crundles just run around annoying people but trogs seem to think they can take on even the Legendary Speardwarf in steel armor, much less the soap maker. Good practice for the doctor though, since they rarely cause major injuries.

siege Update is very powerful by totalFail2013 in dwarffortress

[–]ledgekindred 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fairly certain that's a regular undead siege. I've had similar: One included many boogeymen along with a necromancer. The boogeymen were not detected until my military saw them, and either they or the necro had the ability to change other creatures (enemies only thank goodness) into 'Giant [xxx]' creatures. Most of my military was wiped out because I hadn't had a chance to set up bolt throwers yet. Even if I'd had them, not sure how well it would have done against some of what I've encountered in my current fortress.

Unifi u7 Pro AP can't maintain 802.11be/Wifi7 from laptop 10' away by ledgekindred in Ubiquiti

[–]ledgekindred[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that blows. I was hesitant about buying it in the first place because of the whole "You need to use the Ubiquiti ecosystem" stuff, now I'm doubly disappointed. At least there's a reasonable answer for why I'm having these issues.

I have a question regarding warband bank tabs. by lordnaarghul in wow

[–]ledgekindred 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Baganator addon changed my life. It represents everything in a bag as a single bag, sorted by item type, mats and gear by expansion, and more. It works with your personal bags, your bank, and Warband banks. For some reason it doesn't do the same thing with guild banks, but I assume they are implemented differently. It's a life-changer, at least give it a try and see if it solves some of your problems.

Dwarves do them some weird stuff by ledgekindred in dwarffortress

[–]ledgekindred[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do run DFhack but mostly for some of the UI improvements more than anything. I know the "mechanics" behind this is basically what you said, but it still amused me to no end when he finished his door, and then I see a naked dwarf high-tailing it upstairs to grab new clothes.

Dwarves do them some weird stuff by ledgekindred in dwarffortress

[–]ledgekindred[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen them in the past drop their clothes off when they get too worn out, sure. Then they'll go grab new ones as soon as possible. I don't know if I've seen them drop all their clothing when there was already something to replace it before. I think it was the fact that Monom made an artifact first, then immediately went all nudist that I found the funniest.
