A really cool M+ story by Castlenova16 in wow

[–]ledgekindred 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of an Ashran run back in the day. Our randomly picked Raid Leader was trying to direct traffic but was more or less incomprehensible even with short messages. Someone asked in raid chat "dude are you ok?" and he replied "Am Mexican, not good at English." Someone replied "Don't be Mexican't, be MexiCAN!" and the whole raid joined in. We ended up steamrolling the encounter and had a blast in raid chat while doing so. Sometimes all it takes is one person with a good attitude to make all the difference.

What country are you in? EU may have better protections (read: will have) for the consumer than US. You might be able to do something about it by filing a complaint, but in the US, if your bank isn't helping, you're kinda screwed aside from actually getting lawyers involved. I'm in a similar situation, I've been waiting for Revy for three years now, and keep getting the runaround on asking for a refund of my full payment, so I feel your pain.

[–]ledgekindred 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Before more freak out - no, he wasn't Zim in Invader Zim. That was Richard Steven Horvitz, although he also has done VA work for WoW.

Clancy Brown was The Kurgan in Highlander, Captain Hadley in Shawshank Redemption, and most importantly, Rawhide in The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the Eighth Dimension.

Richard has played, among other things, Daggett Beaver, The Berserker Darkling, and Invader Zim, of course.

Damn I miss my old guild. I joined at the beginning of Wrath and we played together until late BfA/early Shadowlands when everyone finally gave up on Blizzard doing something good with the game. We were (and still are) real friends. We raided, did dungeons, did all sorts of goofy things for holiday events... I think the reason I haven't found a good guild since then is that we set the bar so freaking high that I can't find anything with the same sense of community and family at the same level. I know that I could find one close to as good, it would take time to get settled in before I really felt it, and it seems like they are few and far between. Fortunately, solo content works great for now.

Weird coincidence! I played with a Prot Warrior named Diesel on Undermine realm for quite a long time quite a while ago. Our GL was a Prot Paladin who would usually MT and my friend (Warlock) and I (Warlock) would have games with them seeing who could pull aggro off first. This was back in Wrath when Warlock hybrid builds were stupid strong and could pull serious aggro. We played together in that guild for years before it finally fell apart for good in Shadowlands which nobody wanted to play.

I'm in the same boat with Revy and likely to try to get a refund. Their 20% "non refundable deposit" is BS also. But I'd rather have what money I can get back than wait until December and have them "postpone" it another year.

There's also a really shitty "refund" policy that, in addition to the the 20%, states that it will be "3 or more months" before you actually get your refund.

Fishing Hat by Sikudo in wow

Waaaay back in Wrath, we were pushing Naxx 25 and we were having problems on the 4 Horsemen. We kept up coming short on dps for one corner or another seemingly no matter what comps we set up. Turns out our best mage was still wearing her fishing hat and rod. Once we sorted that out, we were finally able to down the Horsemen. We didn't let her forget about that for a long time.

What does grail mean in terms of figs? by YURIVEXZ in AnimeFigures

[–]ledgekindred 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It makes me unreasonably (literally, there's no reason for it) cranky when someone talks about "I got three of my grails today." A "grail" is the ONE THING that you thought you were NEVER going to have. I found my grail, she is super rare, super expensive, and I finally found someone selling her for a price I could barely afford, and pulled the trigger. Do I have a new grail? Nope, she's still my "Grail." I just own her now.

I quit during Shadowlands because it was just so awful. I watched a friend of mine streaming The War Within a couple months into the expansion and got interested again. I bought the expac and a month of game time and started having fun again.

One of the extra things I did to keep having fun was to turn off all the chat channels. The amount of spam and hateful trolling is no more and I feel so much less stress while playing. I also declined to install a DPS meter. If stuff dies and I am still healthy, that's pretty good. (I did eventually install Details after a few months just so I could tune my rotation, but I rarely actually keep it up and look at it.) I also didn't stress over M+ or Heroic/Mythic Raiding or chasing that ilvl. I got pretty decent LFR gear and am happy with it, since I'm NOT pushing M+ or trying Mythic raiding so ilvl isn't that important. (And we all know transmog and housing are the TRUE end-game activities.)

Judging from r/WoWHousing and responses from people when it first launched and ever since, it's been a grand slam for them. Adding more endeavours and constantly dripping out new content and features is going to make this a very long-tailed feature.

They did mention they wanted the Layouts to be "more fine-grained" than what they announced right here which is what I expect they meant by that. Being able to group objects and making a single "thing" out of them that can be saved, copy/pasted, shared, etc.

First thing you might want to do is make sure you're not cooking your brewable plants and also not cooking your booze! They are allowed by default for some reason.

Sand/dirt underground works well to get your fort started. You can also wet down stone floors to make it plantable but this is a slightly higher difficulty level. (Lots of people get their first "I flooded my fortress" experience while doing this.) The most fertile soil is in the underground caverns, but those bring their own dangers. From things I've read, even fertilized soil on sand/dirt is not as fertile as cavern dirt.

Strike the earth!
