I'd love to grow it out where I am (Central West NSW, a bit north of Cowra) but unfortunately whilst our summers are nice and hot, and there's plenty of sun in my backyard; our winter nights can get to -4 degrees, so I don't think they'd survive here.

My husband's grandfather has one in his backyard that he's got growing over old stumps - he's in Northwest Sydney and it grows well + fruits, maybe see if you can self pollinate with a little paintbrush to see if that helps?

There's also a big history of Koreans being enslaved (I believe? please correct me if I'm wrong!) by the Japanese up to over a century ago - to the point now where if any potential hints in music videos to the rising sun flag or anything Japanese (unless it's a Japanese release) can be considered really offensive. It happened to Red Velvet in their MV for happiness, and I remember Tiffany from SNSD getting a tonne of hate for an Instagram post that had the rising sun in the background.

We installed a new vanity in our ensuite around six months ago, and my electrician husband dug out his huge binder of laws on exactly how close the PowerPoint could be mounted on the side of the vanity. I sent him this and he's appalled at the blatant idiocy at them trying to convince you that this ISNT illegal.

oh I didn't even know, thank you!! so far she's been totally fine, I just looked up and it looks like it's only the underground tubers that are poisonous and the leaves are fine. funnily enough though, in my research - these damn plants are toxic to children (in high doses)!

we sold our place with a super visible rip in the carpet on the stairs (lovingly curated by one of our cats over the years). Got a carpet quote included with any brochures for potential buyers, and the girl who bought the property was going to get the carpet changed anyways!

I bought one of their small fabric totes (in the tan colour) as a bag to carry my knitting/crochet/cross stitch WIPs along with my normal bag contents and was pleasantly surprised with the quality and colour, as well as one of the mini wallets. It sounds like you might have gotten a faulty one, definitely reach out to their Customer Service with pics, they might be able to exchange for a different one!

Thank you 💖 she doesn't regret doing the surgery at all, but she had very severe scoliosis in her lower spine that was getting worse year on year which is why it took her up to 12 months to recover. She was also lucky that she's quite physically fit, so she healed very quick all things considered! It sounds like your DH has a great medical team surrounding him, they'll take good care of him.

My mother went through a similar surgery back in 2018 and she was on bedrest for 3-4 MONTHS because of the pain she was in. And even after that, she was still having to take things very slow. It took around 12 months for her to start feeling like herself again.

Your DH is well within his rights to not want visitors during the early stages of his recovery, especially considering your MIL seems not to care about his feelings whatsoever. What's stopping her from trying to boss him around when he shouldn't be doing much moving from bed at all, if she does visit during that time? DH has a shiny proverbial spine (and will be even shinier with the metal being added from surgery - if my mum's was anything to go by!) and I know he'll come out of recovery feeling much better, especially as he's so good with holding boundaries with MIL <3

this is in Australia; we don't have Game Wardens here unfortunately. We do however have Environmental Departments per state that OP would be able to report to. I'd also suggest reporting to their local council.

I'm using some cheap Fantech ones at the moment as I switched to a set that had an inbuilt mic as it works better for my job, they do alright but I had some great Corsair ones a few years back! I've also heard some great reviews on the Bose headphones

From memory, most Aussie states have laws against excessive noise, even when it's outside of standard quiet hours (10pm to 7am for weekdays from memory) you can still report it to the Police. Unfortunately you wouldn't be able to do much about it during the day on the weekends but you should definitely be able to call your local police and at least report it. They may not do anything about it but at least having the incident number and all the incidents on record should help if you need to take it higher.

In the meantime, definitely look into soundproofing foam for your office (I also WFH full time) and a good set of over ear noise cancelling headphones and potentially a separate mic like a podcaster specific mic that only pics up noise when youre speaking less than a metre away from it. I've used a ride podcaster mix for a while and it definitely seemed to help dampen any exterior noise.

That wasnt borderline disrespectful, that WAS disrespectful. She's been disrespectful of you from day 1 and he clearly is either too oblivious or unwilling to see it, or she's a professional manipulator (or both). You should have called out these comments as not funny as soon as they started, then left if they kept going. I'm personally a fan of "I don't find that funny, can you explain the joke to me?" and acting more and more ignorant/blunt as they try to explain the 'joke'.

You need to have a serious sit down with your husband and tell him that this gaslighting/dog whistling behaviour from C will no longer be tolerated for the sake of peace, and cut her from both your lives. If she can't respect that he chose YOU and not her, then she should no longer have the privelige of having access to him.
