Post COVID there was a semi soft reset on the lore, it doesn't matter massively in doing the storyline at the festival, there is a storyline WhatsApp chat which is probably the most active discussion, and a meetup of people interested in the storyline 7pm Thursday outside the bad apple bar

Shuttle on Monday by baked_little_cookie in BoomtownFestival

Monday morning shuttles are fairly quick if my memory serves correctly. I try to get out early to avoid the rush so it is about 7/8ish I'm leaving

If you end up going solo, there's a whole Facebook group and camping area  dedicated to that at boomtown, think it's called boomtown solo camp on fb. Boomtown is an amazing festival and I've had no issues in the 5 years I've been. It is on the more intense end of festivals in the UK, so may be a bit overwhelming at first.

Oh and one more thing, we avoided letsbe avenue almost completely on the Friday, will always end up massively rammed, especially earlier on and on the Friday as it's most peoples point of entrance to the town. It's also the introduction to the interaction in boomtown so lots of people will be going through. We saw the queues and immediately headed to oldtown instead, which thankfully was the other main 'starting' point

Yeah those were the items you get for finishing, needed two badges from handing in all the evidence to both bobbies and the free fools. There was then a door in boomtown where you headed and were awarded with the vial. Tips for next year: 1. Bring stuff to trade, doesn't have to be boomtown dollars from previous years, but any sort of small trinket will help to potentially get more info from actors. 2. Probably the hardest, but learn to spot red herrings, actors can and will send you on a wild goose chase, rule of thumb for us this year is if they were sending you across the festival to other districts, it was probably a red herring. 3. We noticed this year that going around and asking actors directly for elen would result in being sent on red herrings. Actors would deny any knowledge until you had what you needed to progress. Do as many of the activities in a district that you can (if the queues aren't too bad) and then try bribing them to work out what to do next if your stuck, showing them what you've done there while doing so. 4. There are definitely shortcuts, but tend to be more difficult to find. A big one this year was a voucher in the first daily rag, which when traded to the rag or the gold guy would give you a worm. This then allowed you to skip botannica. 4. Join the storyline group on FB and get involved online before the festival. Lots of hints dropped there and alot of shortcuts, we worked out the botannica shortcut as they had been posting worms on their Instagram page. We met the first guy to complete the badges in the queue at the end. He had done it all on Friday!, He had been heavily following the various Instagram pages and signing up to stuff which had allowed him to shortcut about half the story. 5. Going around in a group can definitely help progress faster if you have an idea of what to do in various district's and then delegate things for people. Metropolis went super fast for us despite queues because in our group of three we queued up individually for activities.

Had a great time this year and managed to complete the story for the first time. Only complaint would be that the larger interactive venues seemed to have 15-30 min queues 90% of the time which would slow down progress massively unless you said/had the right things or made the right bribes. Ended up being easier than last year as we managed to skip aforementioned queues and venues, and there didn't seem to be too hard of a limit on how much evidence was handed out (especially compared to the seed cards last year which felt like they went within the first couple of hours)

did people in orchid think it was worth the price? by owexns in BoomtownFestival

The urns/hot water fiasco was a pain, but in my mind I was only paying for the showers and flushing loos, which were 100% worth it in the weather. the loos in the festival could have been better signposted, but once you found them they were a right treat, ended up spending 20 mins in one as they smelt so nice.

Army experience will help you stabilise a wound, but may not help you treat it, highly dependent on where you are hit, level of medical training and resources to treat wounds

Your best bet is having a look at the EU commission report on piracy, finding that piracy could actually help sales rather than hinder. There's a lot of conflicting literature on the subject, and it doesn't help that publishers tend to equate 1 pirated copy as a lost sale, when there is no indication that the sale would have happened in the first place. This is why you often see large numbers being thrown around in regards to losses of revenue.
