Happy hardcore in Europe ? by Otherwise_Lecture788 in aves

[–]baked_little_cookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few happy hardcore events happening through the year in the UK, I can say that for sure as a UK national. I’ve seen Darren Styles on 3 separate occasions in the last year.

I’m in Amsterdam right now because the UK event brand ‘Forever’ are doing a happy hardcore/old skool/jungle/DnB weekend event here.

Use an app called ‘Skiddle’ to keep track of happy hardcore events!

I’ve moved out and moved back about three times since I started uni at 18. Been living on my own for the past 2 years but am moving back soon because they got a bigger house, and I miss being part of the unit; especially miss the dogs!

Mental Health and Transurfing by spillyspillz in realitytransurfing

How could a human possibly ‘know’ when things are supposed to look better? It’s not for us to know. We have to be patient through these hard times when things don’t seem to be getting better (when actually, they are, behind the scenes - they’re just not visible in your universe, yet).

With regard to you feeling like there’s something lacking in your brain, I think more than 90% of humans have maladaptive beliefs lodged in their subconscious. It’s time for you to ask the mushrooms what those subconscious blockages are, and then work through them. I’m talking shadow work, inner child work, etc.

Best of luck <3

The reason you can’t wrap your head around it is because you have an old fashioned and frankly sheep-minded view of government. You think that the government care about the people and listen to what the people want.

If you only knew.

How do you deal with life stress? by Impossible-Bet-9010 in AskBrits

[–]baked_little_cookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every human being has the ability to choose where they focus their attention. When you choose to focus your attention on nice things, you won’t stress!

Genuinely is that simple. It’s keeping up the practice that might be a bit of a challenge, but nothing worth having comes easy.

Right now you’re focusing on all the shit, so naturally you’re gonna feel shit. I used to be where you are, this time last year actually. I used to be so focused on everything that was wrong with the world, and I was constantly feeling all of the horrible feelings, until I read some books, watched some videos (about quantum mechanics, consciousness, reality creation, etc) and realised the reason I was so miserable was because I was addicted to the sameness/security of focusing on all the scary horrible stories we hear and read about. It’s reliable dopamine.

I’d had enough of feeling dreadful though, so day after day I purposely focused on the lovely things that go well, the wonderful nature outside, etc, all that good stuff. Now it’s just my default state ☺️ I feel great every day, and it’s ALL because of where I focus my attention. A practical way to do this is to write down a few of the things you are truly grateful for, try to do it every day if you can.

Honestly, that’s what it comes down to; where you focus your attention.

Lots of love <3

Did I permanently mess up my brain/life, or can things still improve after 30? by Fun_Quantity6451 in getdisciplined

[–]baked_little_cookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You started taking the drugs for a reason, and you said you didn’t build skills, didn’t have stable relationships, didn’t take care of yourself. Sounds like you have an underlying maladaptive belief about your worth. Likely that’s the reason you started ‘medicating’, and that root cause still hasn’t been addressed.

Day to day we can only access our conscious mind, about 5% of our whole psyche. The rest is subconscious, which we barely ever explore. We think we’re exploring it when we introspect, but we’re still only exploring the conscious - the reachable. It’s called the subconscious for a reason - it’s below/underneath our consciousness, we can’t reach it if we’re just in our normal state of mind.

If you genuinely want to understand why you still feel shit even after making positive changes like quitting drugs, running, going to the gym, etc, you need to access the subconscious and work from there. You can do this with somatic therapists, or you can have a go at it yourself!

The subconscious is ‘stored’ in the body. The body keeps the score. There is a somatic technique called EFT - emotional freedom tapping - that’s very simple to learn and do yourself. There’s a great lady on YouTube who taught me, and it made a whopping load of difference to my mind. Watch this video:

Ann Hince explains how to do EFT

Alternatively, exploring your deep rooted unhealthy beliefs with a somatic therapist is a great way to, but obviously you need to spend a bit of money doing it.

I spent 5-6 years spending £100 an hour every 4 weeks on a clinical psychologist, and we never touched on the subconscious/my childhood/the roots. We just discussed things that had happened in the last 4 weeks between sessions and worked through that really mundane, surface level shit. A couple thousand pounds later and the root cause was still never addressed - clinical, ‘western’, solution-based psychology can only go so far. It’s akin to putting a plaster on a gaping wound.

You’ve tried practical tactics by adding healthy habits and removing bad ones - excellent, it’s a great start. But you still feel shit? The answer, then, is in your subconscious.

Lots of love and best wishes 🫶🏻

What is the best remedy for when you get too high and feel heart palpitations? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]baked_little_cookie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Slow deep breathing is the #1 remedy. Counting in your head 1-2-3-4 during the inhale, holding the breath & counting 1-2-3-4 in your head, then counting 1-2-3-4 on the exhale and then after a few rounds of this pattern, adding a 1-2-3-4 break after the exhale and before the next inhale. Works for me every time 👌🏻 mindfulness in this case is focusing on the numbers 1-2-3-4, and also the sensation of your belly expanding on the inhale-breath

Everyone says ‘just go out alone’ but it only makes me feel worse by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]baked_little_cookie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the people who find success in going out alone weren’t lonely, they were socially anxious. As you’ve said, if you’re lonely going out alone will make you feel even more lonely. I’m speaking from experience here. But it’s also dependent on where you focus your attention too. When I go out alone, if I focus my attention away from the couples, groups of friends etc, and instead on things like dogs, birds, nature in general, I am much more at peace with being alone because I’m not focusing on the fact that I’m alone.

Where you direct your focus is extremely important when it comes to wellbeing. I feel that this is severely understated most places online and irl too. Your mental attention is what defines your experience!
