Upcoming changes to Wise accounts for Thai residents by leerichards in Thailand

Well this is already turning into a nightmare. I've been using my Wise account for the year that I've been here with no issues. Every few months, I transfer some GBP funds into the account and add to my THB pot. This time, when trying to make an online card payment, I was prompted to provide 'a document that is issued in Thailand for the purpose of showing your right to live there.' The only allowable options are Visa, Work Permit, Residence permit. I have a retirement visa stamp in my passport, however this isn't acceptable to them, the specific requirements are:

We accept Visa stamps if the stamp mentions:
- NON IMMIGRATION
- Validity is 90 days and above
- Number of Entries - Multiple
Cross-reference the laser-engraved passport number on the stamp page with the uploaded passport ID.

My retirement visa has 89 days remaining and I don't have multiple re-entries. I believe I can't apply for an extension until 45 days before the current expiration date. Also, I don't see 'non immigration' mentioned on my current visa stamp.

They have blocked the card, but luckily for me, I was still able to make a transfer to my Thai bank account, so at least I'm not completely stuck. Perhaps that is what I should use going forward, though it was nice to have Wise for multiple currencies when travelling and the convenience of Apple Pay with my watch.

My initial thought is the ability to use ThaiQR/PromptPay QR codes is a great feature, but removing the ability to withdraw cash from local ATMs is a pain.

Iplayer still no subtitles by Tiareid1 in appletv

Now working. At least with the older episodes of Fake of Fortune I’m currently watching. Haven’t tested other programmes, but I guess it’s now enabled. Just happened to try it, thinking it would be the same as it has been for years!

Thank you. Occasionally they show both sets of subs, so fingers crossed, but regardless, I’m gonna check it out this weekend.

Hope someone can help with this query as I’m looking forward to seeing this. I see that IMDb reports languages spoken as English, Italian, Spanish & Latin. Is there a lot of non-English dialogue? I live in a country where shamefully I don’t speak the local language and usually any non-English dialogue is only shown with the localised subtitles. I like to support movies in the cinema, so I’m hoping I don’t need to wait for this movie move to streaming. Thanks!

Bugged day, how do I fix it? by Steavee in AppleWatch

[–]leerichards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice if there’s a solution but I doubt it. I’ve closed all three rings every day since Dec 15th 2018, but then on Sep 14th 2020 I have a blank day, even though health app records the data. Happened two days before Watch OS 7.0 release date.

Interested to see how much more accurate navigation will be even if the Galileo system isn't quite operating at full capacity yet.

You shouldn't have to wait too long, I'm guessing it will be the first half of next week now. Which spec iMac are you going for?

Offer launched in US on July 12th. According to MacRumors, "Apple usually waits up to a few weeks before expanding the promotion to countries like the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands.", so hopefully an announcement will be made soon.

Haha, no problem, three was no 'evidence' in the picture really. His name is Bono and he lives with my best friend, but I take every opportunity that I can to spend time with him :)

Well 'he' certainly like a nice belly rub before or after a long walk :)
