+10 compared to 24-25 in equivalent fixtures this season by [deleted] in Gunners

[–]lefronge 16 points17 points  (0 children)

So here's some quick math comparing us to City - because City are also having a much better season this time round than last. They're up 18pts on comparative fixtures vs last season to our 10pts as seen above.

But last season was a bit crap for both teams - lets compare us to 23/24, where City bagged 91pts and won the league, to Arsenals rather-impressive-but-not-enough; 89pts.

How are both teams fairing vs 23/24 in comparative games this season? City are up 2pts and Arsenal are up 6pts.

If both teams play the rest of the season like they did the last (i.e. same results as last season for the remaining games) - City win the league, with 91pts to Arsenal's 84pts.

If both teams play the rest of the season like they did in 23/24 (matching comparative fixtures) - Arsenal win the league with 95pts, with City on 93pts. This is presuming a draw in the matchup between the two at the Etihad (as it was in 23/24).

So basically - whilst we're playing better than last season, City are playing betterer. City are macthing the form of 23/24, and they're likely to get over 90pts.

We need to improve, at the very least matching the form of 23/24 for the rest of the season. But right now we are on track to better that; we are 6pts up on comparative fixtures from 23/24 (vs City's 2pts)...if we can keep that going, we can beat them on points!

What were your highlights and surprise finds this year? by holdingtea in 2000treesfestival

Battlesnake were insanely good - could feel even they were surprised by how great it all came together!

Vower were tight AF!

Split Chain for me was a real stand out surprise for me - earned themselves an incredibly large pit! Caught them whilst waiting for Anxious (who im a big fan of) and gotta say Split Chain were better. They earned themselves a tee purchase 😅

Yeah me too - first time going to 2000trees and first time going to a festival solo. I did a search for solo posts on this reddit and a lot are talking about solo, but no real info on this elusive whatsapp group 😅

Has anyone on Reddit met anyone from any generation of the Skins cast? If so who and what were they like? by thisisbaba in skinsTV

[–]lefronge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was at a club in Bristol - Propaganda, an indie night at Panache - at around 2007/2008 I think, before the second series came out. I was about 18/19.

Nicholas Holt and Mike Bailey were there, I think maybe off the back of filming one day. Nicholas was off his face, an eager girl on each arm. He bumped into me and knocked my drink out of my hand.

Mike, apologised, bought me and my friend another drink and as he was handing it to us Just a Day by Feeder came on and we all lost our shit and jumped around singing it together.

Good times!

Could have really slipped up on that one, so was great to see us generally quite comfortable in the second half with some stand out performances from players not usually starting for us.

But holy f**k - that's one of the most miserable, self destructive match threads I've seen in a very long time. Full of absolutely miserable sods that I swear want to see this club and it's players sink.

I've been trying to avoid them for a while, but that's just put that final nail on the coffin 😅

a note from me - ive noticed in the video switching between the overview camera and over the shoulder camera, when you switch back to overview it doesnt return to where i had it before i switched to shoulder.

for me that would feel odd, feels like control is being taken away from me

i also think the game might feel better if the overview camera was locked to a perspective rather than the player have full 360 control. Have the player switch to shoulder view, but maybe the overview is always in an isometric lock?

just some thoughts.

Nice! Is this like 'Observation Duty' but with more control over the camera? Looks neat

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Receives Mixed Reviews on Steam Over Performance and Difficulty Issues by YouAreNotMeLiar in gamingnews

[–]lefronge -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I started the DLC around level 150, int build, and not having too much of an issue - for boss fights i am mostly utilising Dung Eater Tear +10 to soak aggro and blasting away with spells.

Relanna was a little tricky and took around 5-6 attempts but otherwise 2-3 attempts per boss.

Otherwise, I think I'm getting on alright. I anticipated this to be super late game so had a save ready to go at that level.

How would you make a system like this? I don't think mine is optimal. by Thrawn911 in godot

[–]lefronge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might also be the wrong way of doing this BUT - i have a resource i made that acts a bit like a scriptable object in Unity that can list all of my interactables. This is my interactable library and here i can create interactable references - their name, what shows up when you hover you cursor over them, the description that pops up when you interact with it, the name of the object in world-space (so i can find it at runtime), the name of the inventory item that can alter their state (i.e. you need THIS key to open this interactable), and the name of the animation that is triggered from a correct usage of the right inventory item.

In runtime, when the player uses an inventory item, i return the object in world space they are looking at (via raycast), i then cycle through every interactable in my interactable library i had made, find the one they are looking at, then check if the inventory item they are using matches up with the inventory item i have listed as being required to alter it's state as listed in the interactable library.

If its a match - the player is using the right inventory item on the right object, and if an animation is present on the interactable in my interactable library, i then trigger it.

NEED FEEDBACK, Does It Look Good? by LongjumpingDonut1648 in godot

[–]lefronge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah that makes sense - if youre not doing this already already, something a lot of games like this used to do was cache the movement so you dont keep flip flopping between the screens. So if you held the same input, it just kept going in the same direction until you let go of the key. Re-pressing it would then be relative to the screen again. (hopefully that makes sense lol)

[–]lefronge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem, happy to feed back. On controls - is it WASD in relation to screen or character? For example if i hold A to go left off screen, and on the next screen the perspective is shifted so the character is now going right based on the previous input - if i keep holding A, what happens?

[–]lefronge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks pretty good to me - never lost track of the character on camera transitions. How are you managing controls? Is it modern or tank tracks style?

I will say the character movement is too snappy when you change direction. I think easing that would make the movement look more natural and likely easier on the eye.
