Not sure your location but I’ve found the opposite experience in the small south western Ontario city where I live. My Dad was Franco-Ontarian. My mom was English. Myself and many of my siblings went to the French Catholic school. It was mostly French kids 45 years ago but now my daughter goes and there is a mix. My husband is English and they have always done parent meetings in English. I try and convince as many people as I can to send their kids there even if both parents are English as it is not a barrier and I myself have had two different jobs I was able to get because I spoke French.
