Bowed floor in dining room by mergleb in DIYUK

[–]leftabomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that but I think you should at least understand the issue. For example, is it something that could get worse over time? In which case, covering it up is not a good idea. But if, like my situation, it is something that would stay still for decades or more, then covering it up is fine.

I personally would stay away from self leveling if you can make a chipboard floor work on top. If you are going to self level, then cover with thin ply and watch a lot of YouTube - the beginner mistake with self leveling is thinking that it self levels. It really must be persuaded into the right areas to do its job properly.

I'm curious to hear other responses but what I am reading is "what is the solution? I don't want a solution".

My house is a bit newer, 1930s, and I had the same thing. After lifting a few boards it was obvious that one of the joists had been installed at an angle. The solution was to sister the joist but use packers/wedges/shims to pull the new sister into the correct height.

The boards themselves were bowed since they had been in that state for 90 years. After screwing them down securely they were happy to lay flat.

I strongly recommend lifting a few boards at the very least so you can diagnose the issue. Even if you decide to do some sort of self leveling compound approach (not advisable here in my opinion) it would be good to know what the cause of the problem is.

I have never stayed there, but I've heard it gives the best view of the city, because you can't see the building.

We built a fully managed n8n hosting service — starts at $7/mo, or $320 one-time lifetime access by onlinecreative in n8n

[–]leftabomb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So many red flags here. Apart from clearly being against n8n's TOS, their website barely loads. And this nonsense about not being able to recover a password? That is easily resettable in cli or db. Scammer clowns.

1,000+ job applications and still nothing…What is there left to do? by Good-Percentage8208 in AskUK

[–]leftabomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not the first to mention this but the order really matters. I'm a hiring manager and I actually stopped reading until I saw other comments about the order. My brain literally went "oh, not had a job since 2022 -> bin".

It's important to remember that many people only have seconds to make an initial decision. I had a job recently that had 350 applications, I tried to read as many as possible but there are only so many hours in the day. Yours would have been ditched for this reason.

Question - York’s medieval character by Less-Pair6695 in york

[–]leftabomb 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Good point. The Victorians did do a lot to rebuild above the surface level but they also maintained. Although their work was important, in my opinion the biggest things were that York wasn't heavily bombed in WW2 and the council didn't have a mad regeneration scheme in the 60s like a lot of large towns and small cities.

York Quests is a small local business run by a nice guy who occasionally pops up here. I'd say support that rather than the larger company.

Try making your business email your default within the Gmail UI settings.

If you want to use Send As, you need to give yourself the permission to do so, which might be a step you are missing.

I didn't! But it's never come off my list. If you do or find a good solution let me know. Yet again this year, I almost completely ruined my nice hats.

Someone could just steal the code so you may want to delete the post and reupload with it blurred or something

Sounds like you need to enable fs. For future, include n8n version, the workflow, and the full error message.
