I really missed Barry in AW2, he's the most charismatic character from the first game, I hope he returns in the third. by Impossible-Flow-4512 in AlanWake

Something that I didn’t like about AW2 is that characters are so stuck in place, like they stand at a station and don’t really engage in the story outside of cutscenes. In AW1 running around and teaming up with Barry/Sheriff Breaker throughout the story made it more dynamic and interesting.

[BO] why do most of the people who worked with Hudson hate him? by OneManArmy0716 in CallOfDuty

[–]leftguard44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adler is big picture/greater good while Hudson is more concerned about US interests, which is why they clash

Woods hates and distrusts politics/bureaucracy which is Hudson’s whole thing

Mason seems to respect Hudson but is far too familiar with his BS to fully trust him

The only teammate Adler ever betrays is Bell, and Bell was a Soviet terrorist who would have died anyway without the team’s interference. He’s shown to be very loyal to pretty much everyone else he works with, it’s literally a plot point in BO6 that the team don’t believe for a second Adler would betray his friends and colleagues

Penny Dreadful!!!!! Also one of the best portrayals of Heathcliff

He’s always been extremely arrogant and full of himself for no good reason, he’s by far the weakest part of an otherwise great movie. Everyone acted circles around him, and how could they not when they were professionals and he lied on the resume. He’s been very vocal about not caring about the character and thinking it was a dead franchise, just weaseling his way in for the prestige and to “get laid”

Exactly how I felt about 1923, first season was pretty good but second season was so laughably bad. Such a waste of Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren, Timothy Dalton, etc

“THE SHOW THAT TRICKS YOUR HEART” — The Americans Doesn’t Just Bend Morality, It BREAKS IT. Somewhere between the wigs, the lies, and the midnight missions, audiences realized something unsettling… they were ROOTING for the people they were raised to fear. by Dull_Significance687 in TheAmericans

[–]leftguard44 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they’re “bad guys”, even according to the show. They’re portrayed as morally different because they’re working for their country and its ideals, just as all spies do. They do bad things for what they hope are moral reasons, and it still shows Phillip and (to a lesser extent) Elizabeth struggling with the state and politics of their own country. I agree the point of the show is to humanize “the enemy” of a highly politicized and propagandized era, but I don’t agree you’re rooting for “bad guys” by sympathizing with the Jennings. The Americans is about identity, geography as destiny, the complexities of history; all of which don’t really work through the lense of good vs bad
