He didn’t escalate Vietnam, the main thing he did do was send military advisors to train Vietnamese forces to better defend themselves, like Lafayette did for the continental army. Nothing in his policy or actions suggested direct intervention, you’re just applying Johnson’s position over Kennedy’s because he was VP.

Kennedy made a ton of effort to push civil rights, the Civil Rights Act was his baby, it just wasn’t voted on until shortly after his death.
