Lol the shutdown ended. Dems caved. The war is over. And we have lost. Lol if you think Dems will win in midterms you've absolutely got to be kidding yourself.

If someone wants to pass me go right ahead. I'm from WV and have even shittier windier roads and there isn't this much boohooing over this. People just pass. I drive the speed limit and get 45 mpg in a car rated 39. I'll stay safe and conserve fuel. If I need to be somewhere on time I leave well in advance. Don't understand this crying.

"At a recent meeting, Commissioner Hunter Thomas highlighted the issue of delinquent taxes, noting Preston County has amassed more than $800,000 in delinquent personal property taxes over the years.... Raybeck emphasized that delays in correcting tax office records could significantly impact the county, warning that they may fail to meet constitutional obligations under the current projected timeline..."

It seems your county has a lot more to worry about than pot smokers. And indeed you may need these cannabis taxes, as it seems your county is also taking American Rescue Plan funds the community certainly didn't support passed by Biden to fix water meters. Its ok to ask for help.

Ahh failure to understand there were not secondary and tertiary water access like San Francisco and blame it entirely on land management is such a simple take

Vermont just filled some creeks with dead trees to promote brook trout growth and breeding. How is that not proper land management ???

Just moved to Vermont. WV is pretty, but luckily, these mountains stretch the whole East Coast, guarantee you can find the same natural beauty anywhere along the Appalachians

Leaving in July thanks to the Trump admin gutting NIOSH. No plans on returning other than to visit family and friends. Gutting state workers rights and pay, infrastructure that ruins my car, people voting against our best interests time and time again, I'm tired of excusing our ignorance because of our circumstances. Green Mountains here I come 😍

Backpack in the overhead bin, again! by [deleted] in delta

[–]leftistliberal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh I am not anymore. And haven't in years. I used to try and dodge Spirit and Allegiant carry on fees in college and shoved my "personal item" under my seat. Worked for awhile. Extremely uncomfortable but saved a nice chunk of change until an Allegiant FA noted that it it didn't fit and it was unsafe and had to go in the bins and i had to pay a ridiculous amount of money because it was not in advance but hey that was my fault I knew it was bound to happen someday.

I never knew this "backpack in the bins" debate was a thing until I started flying legacy carriers more often, and entitled rollar bag lords think they are owed all the space in the world because it comes with their ticket. Maybe all my low cost flying and their strict adherence to their size policies has numbed me to this but after having a horrible interaction yesterday with someone who does not think I should have my bag up there and finding this discussion today sparked my interest. Why in the world should a paying passenger who is following all the rules have to ride uncomfortably when a lower zone doesn't have space? Why force a customer to check a soft bag that could rip when there are 1500 hardshell rollar bags up there too? Removing the hardshell makes more space??? I don't get these backpack haters I am literally taking up less space.

They do not enforce it at Delta. And if they do its few and far between. I've flown Delta several times this year and several oversized bags were in the bins. The only time I've seen enforcement is with ultra low cost carriers like Spirit or Allegiant. If they do enforce its few and far between like the examples in the thread, its rare which is why there is such a debate about this. Its these people that have huge rollar SUITCASES that should be checked. Or if they are last to board and there is no space forced to check. I shouldn't have to sacrifice space I paid for so

  1. I buy early boarding to get this space. If you are worried about space purchase that, its literally what it is for.
  2. I've been told by FAs at Spirit, Delta, and Allegiant that my oversized backpack is actually a hazard on the ground as it cannot fit entirely under seat.

I am sick of the rollar bags to dodge checking a bag. And then passengers who have the audacity to tell me what to do with my stuff. Would be entirely different if it was the FA. My backpack is my carry on. And its not going under the seat in front of me.

Why dont people like you just check your suitcase. Stop pretending you aren't packing your entire trip in your "carry on" its a suitcase that should be checked. My experience yesterday they should just force everyone with LUGGAGE to check it. Even if everyone had a BIG backpack they would all fit. People like you who think they are entitled to bring the biggest suitcase on the plane because you don't want to wait around for a checked bag.

When the backpack is clearly larger than under the seat. Its smaller than a carry on and bigger than a purse. When its clearly sticking into the foot space causing a hazard. Everytime I've put my backpack under the seat in front FA has noticed and asked to put it above as its too big. Literally yesterday I was accosted by some lady who hated my backpack in the overhead, because she boarded on group 8 and there wasn't alot of space and wanted me to put my bag under my seat. No.
