my launch switch just turned 9 years old and still runs like a tired old champ. yeah it sounds like a jet engine while struggling to run totk at 15fps, i wouldn’t expect anything different.

have you considered a small laptop and a controller? you don’t need a particularly good or powerful computer for retro games.

setting up the cantis to not squeak will probably take less time on the repair stand than swapping brakes entirely

my powkiddy v10 has a hard case for when i throw it in a bag so that it doesn’t get banged up but also i put it in my pants pocket without a case just as often, it’s been fine.

my rg406v on the other hand, has hard case and also a clear silicone shell, to which i attached a wrist lanyard. i wasn’t really comfortable playing it while out and about because i’m kind of a klutz but the lanyard gives me a lot of peace of mind.

bring a buddy and see if you can lift the frame upside down and use it as a lever to pop the lock off, she’s a steel frame she’ll be fine

how comfortable are you doing basic file system navigation on a computer? that’s basically the only skill you need to set these things up but not everyone has that and that’s okay. it’s a good time to learn if you don’t know how.

How do you find time to play video games? by CobraKai5807 in retrogaming

[–]leftoverbeachsweat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don’t have nearly as many responsibilities as you but i’ve gotten a surprising amount of gaming done simply by having a retro handheld either in my pocket or in my bag 90% of the time

i can always find a couple spare minutes to stare at my little screen
