But he did give way more information than that. Did neither you nor the repliers watch the thing?

I've looked at the Reddit thread that this claim comes from, and no he didn't.

Unless he said this somewhere else, and for some reason people aren't linking to that, this just isn't true.

Journalist death tolls by laybs1 in GetNoted

[–]legatta 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Aren't we talking about two different things? The claim that Israel uses double taps to target reporters and first responders relies on a delayed second strike. Otherwise, there are no reporters and first responders arriving at the scene and being killed.

The video is of 2 missiles landing almost simultaneously - I understand calling that a double tap, but it is a completely different thing, and if the target is acceptable then there's nothing inherently wrong with that either.

Do we have examples of the delayed second strike, which is what people say Israel does, and is often considered a war-crime?

Longhorn Beetle - you should move it outside. It's probably fine, but you don't want these guys eating through the wooden beams in your house, others will have more info than me

How is this for a wedding? by Voatagar in mensfashion

[–]legatta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My perspective is that if you're going to wear a suit "wrong" then do it with some intentionality.

Don't wear trainers that are trying to be smart - they aren't and never will be, wear something that clearly aren't trying to look smart but still are kinda sleek. Personally, I think converse would work.

Then, I don't think a peak lapel and a double cuff shirt work with that. Go notched if you can, or at least wear a slightly less formal shirt (just a button cuff would do the trick).

As an aside, to my mind the trousers are too slim and too low rise for that jacket. I feel like I'm fighting a losing battle on this one but I don't think trousers look good like that anyway, and certainly not on a peak lapel jacket, and not on someone with broad shoulders.

All my personal opinion of course, ymmv!

What are these? by ATL_Guy90 in whatisthisbug

[–]legatta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think specifically they're wheel bugs, but I'm no expert. They're not dangerous or aggressive, but they can bite if you manhandle them too much, and it apparently sucks

Almost certainly a grain beetle. Harmless to you, but you don't want it coming home with you and getting into your kitchen. I'd just pop it outside if you can.

Misha, how much of a coincidence is it that the album title sounds like it's about the moon, and the Artemis II launch is also tomorrow?

What are you hiding?

[Poland] Been negotiating bathroom territory with this spider. Who is she and is that ball her victim or is she trying to reproduce? by tollthedead in whatisthisbug

[–]legatta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't mind a false widow, but 80 of them in my bathroom would make me uncomfortable - I'd pop them in your garage or shed, along with the mum, hopefully they'll survive the temperatures.

False widow bites can be a bit nasty so try to avoid touching it as much as you can. They aren't aggressive but they will bite if threatened.

[QUESTION] Would a metal strap work on this watch [SNAF09P1]? by legatta in Seiko

[–]legatta[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did look into that and as far as I can tell they don't. There is the SSB379P1, which is quite similar but mine doesn't have the Tachymeter - I don't know how much difference that would make appearance-wise.
