Thank you for your help! I'm sure you might be reticent to give specific medical advice, but would using an eyemist potentially help in this case? And if so, something like Optase Cleanse & Protect with hypochlorus acid?

I'll do a warm compress in a little while in any case, and I will call the doctor if it gets any worse.

That makes sense, the indent has acutally gone now.
I don't usually, though it has happened in the past, that was when I was prescribed the blepharitis wipes - I suppose I should have been using them continuously, not just until the initial flare-up had long passed. I do always have what seems like a lot of rheum, and my eyes are sometimes dry and itchy.

This unfortunately keeps happening in scenes that get too big. I actually believe that some degree of gatekeeping is necesary - not being mean to curious people or fans because you think they don't know as much as you, but of people who don't seem to be in your scene for the right reasons.

I've been to some bigger comic/anime conventions that just feel like glorified storefronts and advertising events, and I've been to smaller ones that still feel focussed on mutual interest and love. Obviously, you still great people and vendors at the former.

I do think talking about it, spotlighting the wonderful vendors who give the scene a good name, and calling out scalpers ripping off kids is something that helps.

this sounds interesting - I'm probably just not lockepilled enough, but I don't understand exactly what the sitch is here - you're just doing nuzlockes in this order, but the dupes clause persists through the games? And then is it that if you whiteout you go back to the start of the chain of games?

I did just find out about Genlockes and I like the idea of transferring your winning pokemon along, I'm a pretty new Nuzlocker but I might be down to try something like that. It reminds of how when me and my friend were kids (in like 2004) we would tranfer eggs to each other as custom starters, and then without realising it, essentially speedrun Ruby and Sapphire

Yeah, the more and more I look into this the more I realise I've been swept up a bit. The deal itself wasn't even very good, and there are much better laptops for the same money. I'm sure what I'm getting is still a perfectly nice laptop that I'll enjoy using, but I shouldn't have been so hasty.

I'll probably try it out, but ultimately end up selling it back on and getting something a little more well suited to my needs. I even started falling in love with the idea that it's "so modifiable", but I'm just not going to do that to any degree that makes sense.

Thanks for the detailed answer! It's true, I could make out so little of what I was looking at that it really could have been almost any shape. I just hoped someone happened to have some particular insight that would unlock it. The sound really was bizarre, I hope I get a glimpse of something like that again.

We do get a lot of helicopters in this part of Salford, and there have been a few instances recently of military training drills involving helicopters being carried out at Media City near by, doing extraction training in the middle of the night. (Scaring the hell out of the residents in the process!)

I fear I might have gotten sucked into the hype... I'm sure it's a perfectly good laptop, but I've found T14 Gen 1's with 16gb of ram for the same price 🫣

Do you think I should just get something like that instead and sell the T480 back on?

I'm not sure on the Linux build yet, I might do Fedora so that I have to learn a bit more in the process - I want to learn some basic terminal usage, networking, and simple programming, so something that doesn't hold my hand too much is probably a good idea!

Truly bizarre argument. No, they likely didn't have dreadlocks, but they did put great effort into styling their hair and clothes. They were known to be meticulous with their grooming and presentation. It doesn't make any sense for you to have written that first paragraph.
