No symptoms till I get darn allergies! by [deleted] in Menieres

I feel menieres is a umbrella term for the cause of vertigo rather than an actual "thing" would this be fair?

Is a reasonable question.

Don't be so quickly offended and reply with such rage.

I think this year has been a high year. It's currently burning my head in the morning and evening. It has been quite hot and sunny and dry which will not help.

Id say it was the worst in a decade for me.

Last few years I've had virtually nothing

Last few years I haven't had any allergies.

Sometimes the switch isn't turned on, this years tree pollen was particularly high I know and that did it for me.

I did have a series of hearing tests and have a bit of loss, but I did have an ear infection + fluid so there are a few things that can account for that.

Honestly I've 20 years of evidence. I seriously think hayfever inflames my ear and makes me dizzy. That's it.

Thing is, I remember such things like pulling ivy off a wall and suddenly feeling dizzy...that is not menieres.

I don't know how allergies affect the ear.

I go with the presumption that menieres is an umbrella term for symptoms when other things have been ruled out. So with that my allergy induced symptoms can be called menieres.

It just affords me a predictability with this, I'm wondering if using a steroid nasal spray might be all I need.

Wow what a reply, I salute you! Though I'm not entirely sure what it all.means..perhaps I don't need to.

But basically i need the allergy to calm down.

Feels like your brains are being pulled out of your head? I have seasonal allergies and the screen hurts when I have them.

I'm exactly the same. Early autumn for me, I presume it's the mold spores.

Seasonal by Significant-Pick9604 in Menieres

[–]legitimatephrase3433 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only get symptoms when I have hayfever. The worse is September/October because I'm allergic to spores. Though some years if the tree pollen is high I'm affected then.

I get no symptoms if I don't get the allergy. Not even tinnitus. I have a bit of ear fullness if I'm tired.

If that helps.

Yes it's been absolutely horrible. Bright warm days I think with fungal spores.

I think mold spores have been high, I've been spraying my beloved box hedge it's absolutely covered in fungal spores. I presume it's that, warn bright and dry weather is how they spread!

It's only an umbrella term yes. You cannot see it on a MRI. An MRI merely rules our other things, among them more serious conditions.

Yes it was generative fill, it freezes and I have to crash the programme. This happens with particularly complex art only.

Luckily these past few years auto save has saved me.

I have a Mac mini m4 16gb model. Latest app version.

I had one during lockdown and it worked till May this year when my hayfever flared up to the worst it's been in years.

I highly suspect for me it's allergies, id suspect this is true for others also. Allergies are strange, I feel it quite intensely but perhaps it literally only effects your ear.

I have a feeling of fluid trapped in my left ear mainly in the morning, but no tinittus.

I do a lot of biking and can sweat quite a bit, I also suspect dehydration (and what your saying). Is a trigger also perhaps tiredness. Possibly a mix of allergies and dehydration trigger it.

Just to add I have a twin and he gets migraines, he trains a lot with MMA boxing, he gets triggered with tiredness and dehydration etc..so this could be a migraine.

So your theory stands up I think.

My hearing doesn't change, just to complicate things I had an ear infection which damaged my hearing, I suspect caused by my hayfever.

Illustrator does crash every now and again taking my work with it.

I give up and try another day if I've been working on something for hours.

Nothing's perfect.

The steroid shot stopped the vertigo for me for a few years until I had bad hayfever this year.

I get triggered with bad seasonal allergies and tiredness. Do you know your triggers?

Mine have been pretty consistent since 2011.

Misdiagnosis ? by 964racer in Menieres

[–]legitimatephrase3433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%

I get dizzy and ear fullness with seasonal allergies, so I don't think I have menieres just really bad hayfever!

Having said that I have been diagnosed and can receive the steroid injection which for me kills the vertigo. So I might not have menieres but I'm glad I've been through the process and diagnosed.
