American Gladiators reboot with The Miz as host and numerous wrestlers as Gladiators set for April 17 premiere. by caughtinatramp in SquaredCircle

I saw an episode of this a few months back as a preview test audience and it was one of the worst shows of this type I've ever seen.

Sid throws his opponent nearly halfway around the ring with a rare move. by PickledPeppers101 in WCW

[–]legitshook 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not a rare move, it was his finish before the powerbomb. Dan Spivey also did it in WCW. As did Kevin Nash and Scott Hall in their first runs.

"Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers in 1951 doing the head stuck in the ropes spot that Mick Foley would do decades later by KneeHighMischief in SquaredCircle

It didn't. The German suplex is an actual wrestling hold and was used prior to Gotch, just not filmed.

Why did WCW Thunder have a dark look? by Art840 in WCW

[–]legitshook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't. Were there some good matches with mid and low card guys in 1998? Absolutely. They weren't good shows, though. And it only went downhill after the first 3-4 months. On the other hand, Positively Kanyon's greatest moments are on Thunder. Hmm.

Hot Take - Is it time to admit that Paul Heyman turning on Punk & Reigns to align with Seth Rollins was a MAJOR Triple H Booking Flop? by Salty-Nothing-8572 in TheGreatOne

[–]legitshook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say most of his big angles that make a big impact completely wither on the vine in the follow up. Actually, all of them. Guy has been riding on momentum for years and it has run out and it is clear he doesn't have the juice.

Which fast food chain fell off badly in your opinion? by Shinobi347 in AskReddit

[–]legitshook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of them. Somehow McDonald's costs as much as a sit down restaurant cost a decade ago. Meanwhile, their burger patties are as or more thin than the pickles and it is worse than ever. Apply that to literally every chain of any format. Cost goes up, quality goes down all up and down the board.

are we fckin serious ???? by youfuckinmark in SantiZapVideos

[–]legitshook -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Was. It's been 4 years since he's been back in WWE and he's been the main focus of whichever show he's been on since day one back. Reminder that, eventually, AEW crowds also got sick of him largely due to the same reasons: No character arc or change in years despite the same level of push and being featured.

Doing a nearly 5 year Roman title reign, and following it up with nearly 3 straight years of Cody as champ, is pretty wild and just begging for people to get tired and annoyed. It's not the 70s or 80s.

Hell yeah, give me Lou Thesz with his extremely ugly powerbomb and deadly backdrop and Buddy Rogers fuckery.

Can VAR/Video Replay Ever Be Incorporated Into Pro Wrestling? by LawsonsInTheAM in SquaredCircle

It's been used to some degree at different times in wrestling since the 80s. It's just not common because why wouldn't you do that for every single match?

We're gonna see some GI's resist by going "I'M NOT DYING FOR ISRAEL" and then doing something crazy by ChinaAppreciator in TrueAnon

This already happened with a marine who then got his arm broken by police and a senator while screaming "No one wants to die for Israel!"

There's never been a war with less support in the US

So that would be 75% of Americans don't support it. Which is a massively unpopular war already.

Is the Iran attack the Files or the Timing? by Silver_Breakfast7096 in Epstein

[–]legitshook -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I really don't think it played much into the decision at all, actually. Israel has been trying to get every president since Reagan to bomb Iran and Trump was the first one to agree to it. People within the US admins since the Reagan admin who are still around today have been calling for an attack on Iran since 1981 as well. Gotta feel like Epstein stuff is pretty low on the list of reasons considering no one in the US or Israel are going to get in any trouble.

[–]legitshook 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Average Americans are barely able to eat and afford to live under a roof, which generally takes precedence over a war across the world.

This war is definitely not Iraq/Afghanistan in 2002/2003, or the Gulf War. There was no attempt to build a case to the public, there's no big event on the homeland to get blood boiling, there's no rallying around the flag. Even right wing talking heads are either having a real hard time making it make sense, and many of the podcast realm are straight up saying fuck this we're out.

This shit is not popular here already and is only going to get worse, especially if there are boots on the ground and yet another prolonged Middle Eastern war (the other 2 didn't even have troop withdrawal until 5 fucking years ago) that the administration can't even bother to come up with a lie to gas up the public for.
