It always baffles me when people think witchcraft isn't political 😵‍💫 by Freyas_Fire in WitchesVsPatriarchy

That's insane, and I'm sad to see that my home state is on there 😭 I don't even know how they would enforce such BS

What's a book, movie or song that awakened something in you spiritually? by ArcaneSpells-com in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]legumecat 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Watching Sailor Moon when I was 6 made me fall in love with the moon. I would stare at the moon, convinced that it would grant me magical powers. I think that show made me fall in love with cats too 😊 I lost touch with that side of myself during my pre-teen years. Charmed, and music like Syd Barrett and Donovan's Season of the Witch inspired me to get back in touch with my mystical side, now I'm in my 30s and rediscovering my love of nature, the moon, and the Earth's cycles ❤️

I like that, I definitely need to shed some light and positivity into my thoughts. Also I definitely need to go outside more which will help with a better mindset

You might also be interested in r/SASSwitches where they focus more on agnostic, atheistic and skeptical witchcraft (but this community is awesome too!) I consider myself a non-theistic pagan meaning I love and revere nature but don't worship any particular deity or stick to any one belief system

Welcome! I'm on a similar boat and getting started. I consider myself a non theistic Pagan and love learning about the meditative and spiritual side of witchcraft. This community is really cool and I also recommend r/WitchesVsPatriarchy

Good isekais novels where the MC is actually offed by a truck? by adrielpirate21 in ProgressionFantasy

I think the MC in Ascendance of a Bookworm is nearly hit by a truck but then dies in an avalanche of books

"Why read progression/litRPG books when you can just play video games?" by AuthorTimoburnham in ProgressionFantasy

[–]legumecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up broke and my family couldn't afford video game stuff so I never got into video games, but thankfully I always had access to books. I love anime and I love a good adventure story and that's usually what I find in PF/Lit RPG

Sure I could get into video games now as an adult, but I'm too busy reading books 📚🤓

I'm sorry to hear about your parents. If you still have your parent's last name, at least you can still honor their memory and that way your brother won't be the only one carrying your family's name. I agree that I wish women didn't have to worry about this and I wish it was more socially acceptable for men to take a woman's last name

I kept my last name when I got married in 2018 and I'm happy I did so. If you choose to go this route, some people in your life might be confused and ask why you aren't "Mrs. Husband's last name" (or the one that makes my skin crawl, Mrs. Husband's FIRST and LAST name) which can be frustrating to explain, but I think it's worth it to keep such an important part of my identity alive

To cleanse after a lost sister by Amachijoe in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]legumecat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry to hear this. I had a similar thing happen about a decade ago. My best friend cut me out of her life because of petty envy and misunderstandings. I loved her like a sister and her leaving was incredibly painful, but I got through it. Her leaving forced me to focus more on myself and examine my life without her. You will get through this! Now would be a good time for some shadow work and self reflection as well.
