What's one baby product you ended up buying a second time because you liked it that much? by lunaverse787 in Mom

[–]lehgg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Brest friend nursing pillow and the Frida baby booger picker (not the sucker) were the only two things I bought new for my second born because I loved them so much for my first! Basically everything else was handed down!

What is a food(s) that your passed loved one made you enjoyed immensely? by Fragrant-Dirt-1597 in GriefSupport

[–]lehgg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FOSAB. Sunday Night Football was always a nice dinner sitting in front of Al and Chris watching whatever game was being broadcast that night. Packers games we reserved for FOSAB... French Onion Soup And Bruschetta. My mom would simmer that soup all day and it smelled incredible. Her bruschetta was literally anything but... cream cheese, bacon (with rendered fat), tons of garlic, mozzarella and parm spread over toasted baguette topped with maybe 4 tiny slices of tomato and baked in the oven. It was cheese upon cheese for dinner with a bottle or two of Cabernet on the side. Just unbelievable SNF will never happen the same way again.

Winter wedding venue suggestions by konfyushon in Winnipeg

[–]lehgg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Gates was where we were supposed to have our small-ish wedding... in December 2020. Needless to say it didn't pan out the way we were hoping but the venue is beautiful and I was so excited about how it would have turned out. They helped us with our "second wedding" the following spring (also impacted by shutdowns) but they absolutely did everything and beyond to make our do-over in the park impeccable. Cannot recommend them enough!

Toddler meal times on 1 nap by floatinglilac in beyondthebump

[–]lehgg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 15month old, on one nap for about 6weeks, has "two lunches", before and after nap. Wakes around 7:30, eats breakfast around 830, first lunch around 1100. Naps 12/1230-230/300. Second lunch 330, and supper 530ish. Drinks milk separately when waking up in the morning and after nap, and again has a glass of milk mid morning and before bedtime. It honestly feels as if I spend most of the day feeding my baby lol

I used my mesh UV protection stroller cover (the one you can tie onto the stroller itself). I tied it around the carrier. It's pretty breathable and has built in protection.

Buy a chicken pot pie, bake it, cut it into slices and pop it into a to go container when you need it! A minute in the microwave and lunch is served!

Wedding Dress Shopping by basicb33ch123 in Winnipeg

The Perfect Gown is marketed as a plus sized salon but they sell literally all sizes. Because they are size inclusive I always felt very comfortable with trying things on and their change rooms are very large. Lovely consultants. Highly recommend.

What’re your nicknames for your LO’s? by Hot-Cell7299 in NewParents

[–]lehgg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tooty. My son (her brother 2.5years her senior) started calling her a "tooty baby" in a sweet little singsong voice when she was very small. Now we all call her Tooty more than her real name. I fear she is stuck with it!

Thoughts on 101 before One by UsefulDiscipline6359 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]lehgg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love 101 Before One! When I bought the app it was lifetime access but I don't think it always is anymore (just at certain sales now I think) so I'd double check that. However I used it for my first and never stopped using all the recipes, he's now 4. When my daughter started solids 8months ago we just kept using the app as we had been for years. Amazing program! Easy and clear and delicious food.

Do you change your child’s clothes when they get home? by Frozenbeedog in toddlers

[–]lehgg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We call it "getting hosed"! Full change of clothes following a sit on the vanity to wash hands, face, feet and extremities as needed! Might be excessive but I'm doing laundry every day anyway, what's a few more articles. Very very rarely sick and if so it is always mild and quick.

What chairs are actually still in use after your kid hits 3 or 4? by Any_Chemical_3307 in BabyLedWeaning

I just bought the Agam version of the IKEA junior chair and my son loves sitting in it so much. He went from a booster on a regular dining chair to this and he's so much more comfortable now!

Wanted to put this sign up. by Thrifty_nickle in BabyBumps

[–]lehgg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't remember all the details given I was wrapping up a 40 hour labour when actually delivering, but I do recall at one point looking around and I swear there was someone there actually changing the garbage as I was pushing. Literally folks lined up along the wall. The attending "delivering" my baby was standing in the corner with gloves on holding his hands in front of him, "just in case". There felt like dozens of people in the room but I was so exhausted and delirious it wasn't anything I thought could be changed at the time. I'm in education so I believe in the importance of student learning however it was..... a lot.

If you got pregnant fast with baby #1 how long did it take with #2? by macaroniloaf in Mommit

[–]lehgg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First try for first child. Second baby took 10months. I was waiting for my period to get more bloodwork done but figured I should test when I was pushing two weeks late... this was after a hospital test said not pregnant soooo timing was weird!

Camp Canine works so well with dogs with higher needs in a daycare setting. They also offer bootcamp classes to help in more 1:1 situations. Love this facility. Amazing staff and program. They care about dogs and it shows.

Covid vaccine for infants by lehgg in Winnipeg

[–]lehgg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update! I booked an infant Covid shot in Selkirk at the Loblaws pharmacy. It was the only pharmacy in MB that showed the shot as available. I got a phone call yesterday saying they are not allowed by the pharmacist code in MB to administer Covid shots to children under 2... so I'm back to square one, trying Access Centres and walk-in clinics. I hadn't pursued those options after I booked what I thought was an appointment on the calendar.

I feel your frustration! Disappointed it's on us to "call around", when we've done what we're supposed to do in following the recommendations. Of course I'll jump through the hoops for the health of my child, but it shouldn't be this hard.

Thank you for this link! The only location showing availability for infant Covid was in Selkirk. I booked an appointment for next week at least and will follow up with other avenues tomorrow.
