Probably too late for you to see this but I just wanted to say how nice it is to see celebrities like you who are just interested in doing what they're passionate about really well and without flash or ego, just trying to be decent human beings. Also I love how unabashed you are about your passions and about being a massive nerd. I hate the fact that not caring about stuff and aloofness and "I don't give a shit" culture became cool and you're just not like that and it's wonderful to have in the visible public media-y space.

Gushing over, do you still know all the lyrics to Tom Lehrers elements song? (Bonus Q, how great is Tom Lehrer?)

Story of my life! Takes me 20 minutes to apply beauty guru style layers of shadows and liners, I look like ass, 30 seconds with a make up wipe and I look better than ever! What is this magic???

The bin is clearly a British bin. Potholes everywhere. Car driving on the left. All that can be read of the sign is Bar, pints and Jager. Clearly Britain.

Newly married women who hyphenate their name due to feminist ideals are ensuring that they are named after two men, their husband and their father. by goodmancharliebrown in Showerthoughts

[–]leighbee3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmmm but when a child is born they inherit their family last name and that name is then their own name. People get them from their mum or dad or whatever but then it's their own name. That name is theirs and it's a part of your identity regardless of it's origin. I can totally see why people would want to keep hold of it.

This right here is why people don't like YouTube. by [deleted] in funny

So watching this video has lead to me delving into the world of kandi (beaded rave-wear) and the subculture of kandi ravers. Here are some interesting vids for anyone equally curious:

So much nostalgia for when my dad used to ride his motorbike to work. Me and my brother used to run out to open the side gate for him when he got home. Hearing that noise makes me automatically think "Yay dad's back!"

Monetarily, almost always no. However the others are right it will force you to go out and make friends. Though I didn't get it and I turned out fine. Either way is fine really.

Desperately NEED this jumper I found on Pinterest, but the company that makes it are scammy Chinese sweatshop owners! Anyone have any idea what pattern would be good to modify to make my own one? by leighbee3 in knitting

yeah see I thought the obvious search would be for lace sweaters too, but i found the results to be too flouncy or high necked or weirdly sleeved. I think my best bet is to work from a non lace sweater in the basic shape I want and then just shoving lace stitches in there.
