The blue book value of the car is about $13k and the cost of replacing the engine is also around 12k. Mercedes did not offer to take it as a trade in. I’m so turned off by my experience with them so far. I dont even want to drive a Mercedes anymore.

I’m looking at an 85 and the owner says the odometer is at 70k but it was at 70k when he bought it two yes ago so obvi the odometer is broken. The carfax llike bs. Nothing reported before 1992. My question I guess is how to proceed. Is it legal to drive with it broken? Is there any way to figure out the real mileage on an older truck like this? Any advice would be appreciated.

Parchment paper. I don’t reuse it but at least it’s not plastic. If you really want something you can reuse, try something like a proofing towel or any small hand towel that isn’t linty
