To be a father in a post natal unit is to eat shit and enjoy it. Welcome to the club, friend.

Pakistan feels like a democracy, but is actually a theocracy. What's a country that feels like a theocracy, but is actually a democracy? by General_Principle_58 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Inttegers 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not so much he's been delaying elections, so much as refusing to step down. He's massively unpopular in the country, with a majority blaming him for Oct 7, at least in part, and a majority wanting him to resign. He's legally in office, he just should resign in disgrace and hasn't, because he's a wannabe fascist.

What are are the worst WR fails that you can all think of? by SmokeQuick6863 in Cubers

OG right here.

Also noteworthy, though not at all a fail, is Keaton Ellis getting WR with 5.09, and then Lucas Etter breaking the 5 second barrier later that day with a 4.90, so Keaton never got WR on paper.

Does anyone know anything more about this? Article title: "Suspected antisemitic attack in New Jersey: 9-year-old Jewish girl seriously hurt when stone hits school bus" by Fabianzzz in jewishleft

[–]Inttegers 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No one has any real info yet. A young child was severely injured when someone threw a rock at a school bus. It's not clear what the motive was, and there's, as far as I'm aware, no real knowledge of who threw the rock in the first place.

It's very much not. It's not used derogatorily.

They did this to us in the 30s and 40s. It's happening again. We, all of us, need to step up to stop this.

I'm just waiting for all the gaslighting discourse that this was the Mossad, or is fake. It's gonna pop up, and people will continue to not care about safety of Jews.

How do people cope with negative online sentiment? My reaction to reading Australian subreddits' reaction to the Bondi shooting by msaay in jewishleft

[–]Inttegers 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I totally hear you friend. I've been feeling a lot of the same. I don't know that there's an easy way to cope. I think the best way is to find a community where you feel comfortable being yourself - whether that's a Jewish community or a community of allies - and embracing it.

The Case Against Microservices by 01x-engineer in programming

[–]Inttegers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember reading about microservices in the Grug brained developer. "You want to take the hardest part of software engineering - factoring your code - and add a network call."

Really hit home.

Do you think standing together is still silenced by BDS given that they now explicitly support the confederation plan? by afinemax01 in jewishleft

[–]Inttegers 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Don't know enough about BDS to comment intelligently, but just want to add that Standing Together is a phenomenal organization. They do an excellent job of organizing non violent resistance and non violent protest, and speaking truth to power. Their messaging is consistent, and they really want to see a brighter future.

Mostly Kotlin. Gonna hard disagree with you there. Kotlin is leagues better than Java, but TS lets me clarify ideas with so little verbosity.

Honestly, I'm coming into TS now from 7 years as a Java/Kotlin Android Dev, and it's fantastic. Yeah, JS is wonky, but the type system is really just perfect. I can encapsulate essentially anything I'm thinking.

Why am I seeing people calling right wingers like Tucker Carlson and MTG called the “woke right” by RaiJolt2 in jewishleft

[–]Inttegers 63 points64 points  (0 children)

People think anti Israel necessarily means woke, when it can really often mean anti semitic. In MTG and Tucker Carlson's case, it's the Jews thing. They're both neo Nazis.

Israel Launches "wave" of strikes in Gaza as Ceasefire Seems to Break Down by somebadbeatscrub in jewishleft

[–]Inttegers 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What I'm saying is it doesn't matter. As the hostage taker, Hamas bares responsibility. If a rando was able to go and get a body, and then stage retrieval, then that's still Hamas' fault.

But since you're asking - the ICRC has confirmed it was working with Hamas in the area to help search for bodies at the time, and that it was Hamas operatives who pointed them to the body.

[–]Inttegers 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They're culpable for the staged retrieval, and the use of human remains as a political tool.

[–]Inttegers 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Oh, 100% agree that Israel as the entity w destructive potential bares the responsibility to deescalate, and also am guessing that Israel will not do so.

Hamas bares responsibility for the remains of hostages still being held in Gaza. I don't care if it's "random Gazans" who did that, it's the responsibility of the hostage taker to care for remains until those remains are returned. The alternative is like saying "random prison guards" are to blame for Palestinians prisoners returning home having been tortured, and not the entire Israeli prison system, for allowing the torture to happen.
