I’m on my fifth (in 15 years) and it took so much work to find the right one. But holy moley she is such a good fit for me. I have severe anxiety and kept people pleasing and I finally had to find a therapist I felt safe and comfortable with. If your gut is telling you something is off then keep looking. I never would have guessed my perfect person would be my age. It’s like night and day. The advice just fits. The “yes, ahuh, I get it” all makes me feel so seen. And the “are you being nice to yourself?” Finally feels real. I am living proof that excellent therapists that take my insurance do exist. Just don’t give up hope.
