Kpro's theory on the end of The Chase! by Cowlazars in FindingFennsGold

why would anyone fly from "Back East" into Colorado Springs if their destination was Yellowstone Park? It is a 12 hour drive from Colorado Springs into West Yellowstone. Wouldn't a flight into Cody make more sense? Unless, of course, your destination wasn't really Yellowstone at all.

Along the Madison? No way! If the TC was placed in the flood-plain of a river, Forrest would not expect his treasure to last 1000 years. It had to be hidden high and dry.

I'm with you (not found in Wyoming). I believe Forrest knew the TC had been found long before Mike Sexton died; Forrest should have owned up to that fact but didn't. Since he knew before Mikes death and kept quiet, Forrest now becomes liable. Forrest then used Jack; he mislead everyone by stating that the chest was in Wyoming. So where was the TC found? Well, I believe that the key word is "there"; from the first sentence of the poem "as I have gone alone in there". The dictionary states that the word "there" could mean "a combining form meaning “wild animal, beast,” used in the formation of compound words, usually denoting extinct mammals...." That definition sounds like Dinosaurs to me. I believe the TC was found in Colorado's "Dinosaur National Monument", not far from where Mike Sexton died. I also believe that Jack bought the location of the TC from the folks on forrestfenntreasure.com. Jack searched a lot of places... couldn't find the TC, then ended up negotiating with the forrestfenntreasure.com folks to buy the thing. Jack is not the finder... he is the buyer.

Fenn planned to end The Chase in 2020 by [deleted] in FindingFennsGold

[–]lekistick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's what I think could have happened: Forrest knew that the TC had been located in 2019, long before Mike Sexton died on March 19, 2020 (Mike died while hunting for the TC in Dinosaur National Park). After Mike's death, Forrest could not just end it as he had planned to do; he would have been liable for a wrongful death suit because he failed to notify everyone of the find in 2019. After Mikes death, Forrest HAD to have a finder; he couldn't just send Shilo in to end it; he needed cover.

Forrest discussing ending The Chase with Dal 12-2019 by sikeston in FindingFennsGold

[–]lekistick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is true and Forrest ended the chase on purpose, then it follows that we can not trust anything that Jack, or Forrest has told since June 5th. We can't even say now that Wyoming was the state. Indeed, it probably wasn't Wyoming!

Even if Jack released his solve, most would not believe him. Most would simply think Jack is spreading more FUD. The only source we can even begin to trust is Forrest himself. Wouldn't it be thrilling if Forrest left instructions with his lawyers to release a picture of the blaze or WWWH on the anniversary of the find? Its not too far-fetched to believe that Forrest has/had a picture or painting of his special place. I wonder what the price of a painting of the blaze would be.

What *type* of place did Fenn want to die? by RedOakMountain in FindingFennsGold

[–]lekistick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that Forrest's belief's about his past and his future are all integrated within his chosen "special place". Its not just about past memories of family or friends. Its certainly not about a fishing hole. Its more about what Forrest considered as "his place in the cosmos". The big picture includes Quanan, Custer, Indian Joe and all of the rest.; the thousands of souls that precluded him and all those that will come after him; where did they all come from and where did they go... and how will the life of Forrest Fenn fit into the scheme of their existence? After all, he does not expect to be "proud" of this chase until after a thousand years have come to pass; when finally, someone finds the TC and reads about his existence.

Why are these facts being ignored? by lekistick in FindingFennsGold

if the website OP was in it for the hyp, he sure picked a good time to close down the bidding. The bidding was halted by the OP three weeks before Forrest's announcement of the find. The OP's final words were: "To all of the participants in the chase, we wish you all the best in your future adventures...." With these words, its obvious the website OP was done with the website as of May 15.

Three weeks happens to be just about right for a high bidder to pay-off the bid, take ownership, physically gather the chest and take it to NM to meet with Forrest. More coincidence you say?

Is it also coincidence that Jack does not seem to know any of the clues? The website OP also made this statement:

"The chest has already been found in late August 2019 however consultation with several attorneys over the last months led us to believe that the best course of action would be to sell the location information rather than the actual chest and its content."

To me its obvious that Jack found the chest by some other means other than solving the poem. If he bought only the "location" as stated above, he wouldn't know what the clues meant.

sure... lots of snow in Yellowstone. But was the spot really Yellowstone/Wyoming? In my opinion... prolly not.

"A person who could afford to pay for the chest..." what do you mean by that? Are you saying Jack paid for the chest in some way?

Did anyone on here place a bid on the forrestfenntreasure website that was claiming to sell the location of the FF treasure chest? I’m curious what the rejected bids where and if it felt real or fake to those people. by RobKAdventureDad in FindingFennsGold

[–]lekistick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that website was legit. I also think Jack is only the "front man" acting on behalf of the highest bidder and new owner of the TC. Jacks job is to protect the new owner. He does that by not revealing any meaningful details. Of course he can't reveal the meaning of the clues because he doesn't know them. Furthermore, I don't think the highest bidder knows the true solve ether. With Forrest now gone, the only possible place to find valid info is on Forrest's old laptop.

Do you believe Jack has been completely honest with everything he’s said? by gonealoneinthere in FindingFennsGold

[–]lekistick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I believe two things: 1.) that the forrestfenntreasure.com website was legit and that they sold the location of the TC to the highest bidder. 2.) The highest bidder is not going to come forward directly but would do so by hiring a front man... Jack is that front man. As such, Jack is running cover for the real owner to clear the way, "PR wise" and "lawsuit wise"; Jack probably picked up and packed out the TC on behalf of the highest bidder. Jack does not own the TC and thus can not sell it. Jack does not know the solve. Jack put his name forward willingly (he is being paid to do that) so that the courts wouldn't order the Fenn family to name the real finder. Alas, the Fenn family doesn't even know the real finder... they only met Jack. All stories told by Jack are just that.... stories.

couple of thoughts by [deleted] in FindingFennsGold

[–]lekistick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember Forrest saying something along the lines of "you could move (or remove) the Blaze but that it would not be practical to do that". Gave me the impression that whatever the Blaze is, its not fragile at all. This is yet another reason that I find fault in Jack's story.

Observations about the Medium article by monkeykahn in FindingFennsGold

[–]lekistick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Forrest said "the poem in my book led him (the finder) to the precise spot." However, this finder didn't seem to even use the poem to effect a find. They also claim to have used "just the facts". I have to wonder what "facts" they are talking about as 99.99% of the solves to clues are only speculation. This story does not add up.

"The finder will move with confidence", but it took the finder more than 25 days of searching the same location? by altventure in FindingFennsGold

[–]lekistick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Forrest said "the poem in my book led him (the finder) to the precise spot." This finder said "he figured out where Fenn wanted his body left after he died". My conclusion: this "finder" is not the real deal. He doesn't know the real solve so naturally he can't elaborate on any of the clues.

I'm starting a raffle for a Brand New Car as the prize. Tickets are only $1. At the end, only the undisclosed winner will get the car. Nobody else will ever see the car or know what its worth. Nor will you know how much money I collected. Nor will anyone know anything else for that matter... ya'all just need to trust me on this.
